Plenty to like about this hotel: helpful staff; enormous rooms; over-the-top decorations (hunting scenes etc) and reproduction furniture; great rooftop location for the restaurant with distant views of the City Palace.
The problem is the food: the worst that we had in 3 weeks in India, and quite expensive by Indian standards. Examples: mutton Rogan Josh without any tiny piece of meat, just bone; a chicken curry with 8 tiny squares of chicken in it. The breakfast choice was pathetic. When we complained we were told that whatever we asked for would be provided the next day – it wasn't. The Sambar had absolutely nothing in it, it was just liquid. There aren't any restaurants within easy reach, so if you stay here you are stuck with the restaurant.More
