Our Indian travel agent did us no favors by booking us here. 15 kms out of town .Dirty rooms, intermittent hot water, and staff who could not care less.

I have traveled all my life and stayed in every type of hotel, but I have never had a such a horrible experience. The website is very misleading and if you are someone who likes staying at actual 4-star hotels(like they claim to be), I would suggest you look else where.

My husband and I chose to stay here based on the reviews and the pictures, however everything was so misleading. This hotel was the last of our honeymoon trip in rajasthan and ofcourse we were excited based on what we had read.
The hotel is outside the city, which is fine, the location is picturesque and beautiful, the greenery and the local wildlife, the view of the mountains is so nice. This hotel however has ruined the area. The room we got was so dirty, there was mould on the ceiling, there was stuff on the carpets, the bed had some blood stains on it. They didnt even provide proper pillows. It was so gross that we didnt even want to use the washroom. We decided to ask them to clean up and in the mean time have some food. The waiters were very nice, however, there was a RAT running around in the restaurant. They could not offer more than half the things on the menu either. RIght next to the kitchen, we saw the garbage dump, and there were street dogs going through it!!

We decided we had to check out the next morning and somehow survive the night. We asked to have our rooms changed, and we were put in a 2 single-bed room (for our honeymoon!). FYI - absolutely no internet or phone service so ofcourse trying to book another hotel was a nightmare.

We informed the hotel that we were leaving the next morning, and instead of trying to make anything better, they has the guts to ask us to pay for all 3 nights we had booked( the hotel was almost empty ). The management there is horrible to say the least. We asked them to pick up their payment for 1 night that was a horrble experience from our other hotel. They kept giving us a time they would show up for payment, so we would wait, and no one would show up. They did this to us about 3 times, until finally I had to yell at them. I have never had to chase someone to pay THEM for horrible service. They ruined our honeymoon in udaipur and then to pick up their payment they call us AGAIN on our last night in rajasthan while we are enjoying our dinner and tell us we should go back to our hotel so they can pick up their money- and that WE should understand that their appointed staff member cant wait for us.

This was one of the most horrible experiences and I would never recommend this place to anyone! It is dirty dirty dirty!

A beautiful hotel located pleasantly outside the city of Udaipur, with plenty of activities to do on the premises and in the surrounding countryside; though if you choose, the city is not an inconvenient drive away. A very peaceful and calming location, with beautiful scenery and incredible views. Facilities are top-notch, and the staff are incredibly accommodating and friendly. All in all an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience that you will never forget.
They also offer wedding and party services; if you are looking for an incredible destination wedding, this is definitely the place!

There are very few truly special resorts left in the highly-commercialized world of the hotel business these days, but without question Silence is one of those unique gems.

Just outside of the remarkable Rajastani city Udaipur lies an oasis of peace nestled amongst the gorgeous and surprisingly fertile desert landscape. Silence's openness, its one-ness with nature, and its remarkable calm and quite beauty make it a must-stay, particularly amidst an itinerary in India that has a traveler hustled and bustled around during the majority of their stay in this remarkable country.

The rooms have a country-resort comfort, the bed and bedding top shelf, and the pool and restaurant first class. The ability to have breakfast brought to you on your open-air deck overlooking herders guiding their sheep through the mountains in the distance, while little birds sing to you in the tree that shades your small table, and the delicious and cool breeze tickling your toes is something I have not found elsewhere during the past four years I have traveled to India.

The exceedingly helpful staff and Resort Manager go out of their way to ensure that your every need is met. Udaipur is easily accessed from Silence and having dinner in town after a sightseeing or shopping excursion is easy to do. I stayed for a week and found plenty to keep me occupied.

For travelers interested in a tranquil break that still allows access to a must-see city like Udaipur (one of my most favorites in India), Silence is a NOT TO BE MISSED treat!

We just had a short weekend getaway at this beautiful resort and the resort surpassed all expectations. Nestled amongst beutiful hills and a lush valley, the resort is like a hidden gem. The villas are independent, spacious and comfortably furnished. Food is tasty and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful and accomodating. The air is very fresh and unpolluted and the night sky is absolutely gorgeous. The balcony attached gives a very comfortable space to lounge around with drinks or just star gazing.

Wow, we were recommended this place by someone who lived in Udaipur and were certainly not disappointed. Set in beautiful surroundings approx 20 - 30 minutes drive from Udaipur the hotels name 'Silence' is very apt as you find yourself in amongst the peace and beauty of the Aravali mountains. We stayed in one of the 16 villas which was tastefully decorated and comfortable. All the villas look out onto the grass terrace and mountains beyond and we sat with our drinks watching the local people cutting the crops in the valley below us. We visited in March but understand that at certain times of the year the valley becomes a river and the views change completely. The staff go out of their way to provide you with whatever you need, whenever you want and you quickly adjust to the fact that someone will probably be standing close by at most times just waiting in case you need something else. You are made to feel special. The setting is just wonderful and the ideal place to chill out and relax. Sadly we were only there for one day so did not get to venture out of the resort but we understand that visits are available to neighbouring villages where you can experience rural Indian life. The restaurant was also excellent and while we opted for traditional Indian food (when in India etc etc ) we were offered other 'more western' options. Unbelievably this hotel will also pick you up or drop you off at the airport which when we were there was complimentary, although we decided to pay the driver anyway as he had got up especially at 5am to drive us to the airport! This hotel probably doesn't compare to the luxurious surroundings of a five star hotel but then a five star hotel would struggle to match the rural and unspoiled natural beauty of the Silence resort. Would we return? absolutely we would, except next time we will certainly stay for longer. You can check out more about the Silence resort at www.hearsilence.com
