By now I know that the location is supposedly good, but you can't park a vehicle before its gate for over 5 mins. Enter the gate and you see a scooter and a cycle parked in the corridor. Pass through two families staying in two houses including drying clothes in their verandahs, take the stairs to find the reception. Yes they have lake facing rooms, but before the lake you see backyards of a couple of houses in front.

We were two families and they couldn't give us rooms on the same floor. The ambiance made us even more worried and they said if you need 2 rooms together then one will be non a/c and non lake facing and the reason why we were supposed to take their advice was because "why would someone need A/C in winters". Bathrooms were filthy and in one of the rooms it was outside the room(Not attached) though they claim its how heritage properties are. Sorry if you feel that my taste is not matured to stay in such heritage properties, but all I would say is we moved to another Haveli in Udaipur that same night itself and we loved it!!

The behavior of the guys was good, I really hoped they had something better to offer also.

Had stayed at this hotel on 13th november 2012. This year the festival of lights—Diwali was celebrated across the country on that day. The view from the terrace was amazing with all the fireworks which lit up the night sky. We stayed in a room facing the lake and could see the fireworks from the room as well. It was quite an experience.

The food is good. Try the chilly chicken! The old city is a couple of min walk from the hotel.

The rooms would have looked much better with yellow lights. There is no phone in the room.

Overall had a good stay. Value for money!

Room Tip: "If anyone opts for an extra mattress, ask for a bed as well. I saw a mouse running around in t...

Well I travelled here between 12-14th November with my family.

The only positive feature in this hotel are its 3 lake facing rooms.. which are on the Pichola.

Now for the negatives: (Its a long list)

1. No one is ever present at their reception for any help or guidance.

2. The rooms has torn upholstry and a lot of lights and fixtures do NOT work.

3. The food is ok but not all items on the menu are available.

4. The service is SLOW n very horrible..

5. They do not even put a jug/bottle of water in one's room when you check in.

6. They assistant manager is an irritating chap who keeps hovering around, has a sour attitude and keeps asking 'when are you leaving', which is very inappropriate.

7. The staff is ONLY friendly to foreign tourists in anticipation of large tips.

8. Their website is very misleading and very well made but the actual hotel is drab and dull.

9. They have a nice terrace restaurant view but agains thats like all the others in the area.

There a lot better and cheaper places to live around on the Lake Pichola. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone because the charges at this place are the same as the others in the area.

Room Tip: Only go there IF you get a lake facing room..that is the only reason to stay at this place.

First of all let me tell you, if you are new to Udaipur and have your own car, the lanes are very narrow and you need patience and driving skills to reach here. Parking is 100 meters away. However, the staff is overall pretty friendly and will take good care of you.
Since its a converted hotel, do not expect all this things on menu to be available. However, whatever they cooked was pretty good.
Its right on the lake and if you get a lake view room on the top floor like we did, nothing like it.
