We had a great stay here, room was clean, very comfortable and had an astonishing view of lake Pichola and palace.
The location is right off the bank of the lake Pichola.
Just a few walks away from the bridge is the Market center, close to the Jagdish Temple, and all of the main sights were within walking distance. The property might not be grand but it is extremely comfortable and the Staff is helpful and paid attention to minor requests as well.
Rooftop restaurant serves good food and service is great (Aloo paratha A must try!! ....An Indian breakfast) An amazing places especially in the evening for a romantic candle light dinner.
Manager Ranjeet is one of the most gracious host I have ever encountered in all of my travels.

I stayed here one month with my Indian fiance. This hotel is very, very clean - one of the cleanest we've stayed at in India - I've been traveling for about 10 months, minus the 2 month ouster. Great tasting food with much less oil. They clean WELL without demand or persuasion. Ranjeet, manager and staff are genuinely friendly, nice and helpful...trust me, we've been to so many places that claim to have a family-oriented atmosphere (will treat you like family) but this is the place where I actually felt good and welcomed without being viewed as an ATM machine or circus freak..They typically have good WIFI as that is a requirement at any place I stay. Awesome lake views, clean rooftop area with a jarokha (cushioned, romantic seating) overlooking the lake. You could totally dive from there! lol We stayed on the first floor and it is surprisingly quiet although it's off a busy street in a busy, touristy area. One of our best places thus far.....

I stayed at this hotel for four nights. My room was very big and clean and i was able to see some of the lake (i asked for a lake-view room). The Staff is friendly and helpful and the food very good. The view from the restaurant is really nice. I did find the room a bit over-priced though after looking around in other hotels, the bathroom wasn't very clean and i had a hard time with the loud callings of the staff on the stairs that i could hear while lying in bed at night. All in all though, the place is a good stay for a couple of nights.

Room Tip: ask for a lake-view room

What a find Thamla Haveli is! We arrived in Udaipur after a long journey from London and we were 'wowed' by the hotel. The staff were immediately helpful, chatty and friendly. We were shown to our room which was clean and nicely decorated, then we went up to the rooftop for the most incredible views over to the centre of Udaipur. A great place to watch goings on from a distance at the ghats opposite and on the lake. The walk over the little bridge and into town only takes 5 minutes and it was nice to stay slightly on the outskirts of the town. There is a lovely restaurant on the rooftop. We only took breakfast here, not dinner, but the service and food were very good. The staff were very helpful in helping us plan our onward journey and booked us a taxi to Jodhpur with a fantastic driver called Mr Om who was very professional, trust worthy, and a good driver, stopping to let us take photos and visit Ranakpur and Kumbulgarh. All in all, a fantastic hotel at a very good price. If we were to stay again (and I hope we do) I would take one of the slightly more expensive rooms which overlook the lake. Very spacious and romantic! Thank you Thamla Haveli!! :)

Room Tip: Go for the lake view rooms if u can afford a little more!
