“Island beauty”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

This is an Island in the middle of the lake and looks beautiful at night. It is approachable only by boat and you cannot just go there as it is open for residents or for people who are booked there for a meal.

The place is also let out for Parties and marriages and many celebrities have got married here. This place also has a very vast history and SHAH JAHAN stayed at this place for 6 months when he left his home.

The food here is nothing great and does carry a cover charge of Rs 1600/- per head, which is easily cover-able as it is expensive.

Over all a decent experience

“Very nice place...”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

After a nice boat ride, you reach this place which is the favourite of film makers. The landscape, mini museum, view from the top, coffee shop....one can thoroughly enjoy this place.

“Well maintained place”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

This place is used for many weddings and am sure its grandeur comes to life during the weddings... well maintained and a small trip via the boat on lake pichola takes you to this place in the middle of the lake and there are some good views...

“Nothing much...”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

I arrived here as part of the boat ride. It's a nice place to walk round for a little bit, with some good gardens and view across the lake of the palace, but other than that there's nothing much to do and the restaurant is very expensive. It's not something I'd go out of my way to visit.

“One of the most beautiful sunset I ever witnessed”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

First of all, its not "Mandir" (Temple). Its a beautiful romantic palace surrounded by (decently) maintained Pichhola lake.

If you are in hurry then no point in visiting Jag Mandir, its the place where you should spent entire evening looking at setting sun. Sunset combined with intelligently, softly lit garden, cloudy monsoon sky of Udaipur and in the beautiful company of my wife gave me one of the most beautiful sunsets. We spent around 2.5 hours and enjoyed every moment and wanted to spend even more time. This place changes color every minute in evening.

If you are here for dinner or to "tick a spot" from the list of places to be visited then you might feel disappointed. Its a place to sit, relax and enjoy.

If you plan to go to this place you should check sunset timings. Also, too cloudy sky may ruin sunset so you should keep an eye on weather as well. We took last boat but in winters sun will set early.
