“Amar Villas”
Reviewed 19 April 2012

Super miejsce, czyste pokoje i lazienki. Fajny taras z pieknymi widokami, mila obsluga i atmosfera.

Highly recommended by 3 polish tourists. Wonderful roof top terrace with amazing views. Pleasant and professional service. Cheap - we were travelling in April (end of season) so a great bargain. CLean rooms and private bathrooms.

Many thanks!!!!! :-)

We received a lovely reception in this hotel. Baba is a character and so welcoming and with such a nice way with him. it's all been painted beautifully and is a very good deal. Rooftop sunning area and high restaurant with views.
Room clean and freshly painted with ensuite and tv and aircon and fan.
Fantastic location near to footbridge to Lal Ghat and away from all the real noise tho dogs can bark.
The cook looks quite young and hasn't quite master english or hospitality but is very nice for all that and more importantly a VERY GOOD COOK and the food is well priced.
This is a highly recommended good option.

We found the Amar Villas quite by accident when our tuk tuk driver was taking us to hotels that turned out to be full. All and all a very pleasant surprise. Rooms were clean, hot water was present, bed was reasonably soft by Indian standards. The manager is a colourful character by the name of Munshi Baba. Munshi's smiling face is everpresent; he will ensure you have a pleasant stay. Munshi assured us the food was good in the (rather understated) restaurant. We were skeptical but gave it a whirl one evening and were pleasantly surprise was how good the food was.

It is rare that you find a guest house manager as friendly or as on top of things as Baba. He has a warm smile for everyone who walks through the door. The hotel itself was beautiful, very, very clean and freshly painted.

Without a doubt, the best room for the price that we have had in our 4 months in India.

This hotel is only a few months old. We found it by happy accident and were very happy with the hotel and rooms. Our small room was a steal at 500 Rs. It was very clean and had hot water and a TV. The manager, Babba, is very friendly, cheerful and helpful. The restaurant is reasonably priced and decent. You will not get any spectacular views of the city palace, but the location is good and relatively quiet. Great value and highly recommended.

I am delighted to be the first to comment on Amar Villas because this place is awesome! I found this place by chance...well, actually, I did what people aren't usually supposed to do and I let my autorickshaw driver lead me to this place. He told me his cousin works here. But I saw the room, was happy with the price they gave me (500 rupees) and couldn't have been happier with my choice. I probably wouldn't have found it on my own since it is off the street, behind the buildings. It is located on the Hanuman Ghat side of the lake, but just over the bridge so it's a short stroll to anywhere in town.

The very friendly, couteous and always helpful and available managers Praharlad and Munshi Baba told me that this is a new guesthouse, having just opened in the last few months. Everything does look new and there are some new decorative painting around the guesthouse which is very nice. The room was clean and there was plenty of hot water. All of the rooms appear to have flatscreen TVs as well.

Breakfast was the usual fare that you would find at any rooftop cafe but it was all freshly prepared and clean. You don't get direct lake views from this rooftop, but it was still lovely to sit up there. My room didn't have a view at all (I was facing another building) but I was out most of the day anyway. I got a bit of street noise in my room but since this seems like the quieter side of town, there wasn't any noise at night and I sleeping very well.

Overall, I suppose what made the place for me was the genuinely friendly managers who were very kind and respectful and made this a warm atmosphere to stay here. I really hope they are able to keep up this level of service and quality since I definitely would stay here again based on my experience.
