I logged on to one of the Online Travel Sites and came across this amazing deal for Trident, Udaipur. To be honest i had planned this holiday in December 2010 to ensure that i get a good deal.Though I was a little skeptical about the weather in Udaipur in the month of April on the whole but nevertheless thought of taking a chance. And by sheer awesomeness the weather turned out to be the best.
As soon as i entered the front porch of the Hotel i had a feeling of how grandeur the place but in -reality it was much more than what i or we had anticipated. After coming from almost 4 hours of flight time which included one connecting flight, the atmosphere of the Hotel was a very pleasant relief. Nestled in a small corner on the banks of Lake Pichola Trident shares it's neighborhood with The Oberoi Udayvilas. Both these hotels have a common entrance which only allow residents inside, thus warding off any un-warranted guests who like to disturb the tranquility of the place and disturbing the resident guests.
The check-In process unlike a lot of other hotels was a walk in the park, the room allotted was not yet ready as we dropped in a little early without informing the hotel staff. Hence we decided to roam around and check the property and finish breakfast. Breakfast was mouth watering with a delicious spread on each day which included both European and local cuisine.
The property as i said is on the banks of the lake and is very quiet, all you can hear is the voices of Peacocks all day long and you don't have to be lucky to spot them, there are so many of them that by the end of the trip you will be more fed up of them.
The room was a real spacious gem, with both a decent sized bed and bathing area. The only let down there was no drain inside the bathroom, this i realised when in my over-zealous nature filled the bathtub to the brim and then splashing water upto the bed area when i jumped into it, thus getting a scolding look from the housekeeping staff :)
All in all if you want peace after a hard days of work and relaxation is the only thing on your mind go there i promise you won't regret it.
Beware of: Long Weekends when Gujrati's from nearby Ahmedabad invade the hotel and then you can only imagine the worst, i pitied the hotel staff the day i checked out as they had spoilt the last day of my stay.
