“A fabulous and memorable experience!”

You stay in a palace. You are pampered royally. They truly go out of the way to ensure you have a memorable stay.

Beautiful rooms, a lovely ambience, extremely attentive service, the best of chefs and cuisine.

Room Tip: Ask for the ground floor lake side rooms facing the City Palace. A marvellous view. You will feel a...

A 3 night stay at the Taj lake palace hotel turned out to be the most amazing experience of my life. My friend and I enjoyed the 5 star luxury and unmatched pampering of the Taj group of hotels. Right from the reception at the airport, smooth check in, quality of food, immaculate hospitality, most friendly staff the Taj lake palace never fails to surprise. The rooms are excellent with every aspect taken care with attention to detail.

This was the most amazing hotel I have stayed in, I was in a suite room and the history in that room alone was enough to make the stay special. Back that up with the location, the brilliant service the quality of the food, the relaxing boat trip out to the hotel...made this a very memorable and enjoyable stay. I also had a massage which was wonderfully relaxing. If in the area it is a must stay as the whole experience exceeded my expectations

From beginning to the end they exceed your expectations. Setting is wonderful, and you get a royal feel. Service is personalised and food is excellent, though there is no complementary break fast that is otherwise usual. A very good experience one should have.

Room Tip: Lake facing

This place really lives up to its expectations!
A beautiful, white palace in the center of a serene lake... This place is like a dream!
I loved the boat ride to the hotel and upon arrival, we were greeted with a shower of flowers, a tika and mala. Then we were escorted to our room. The hotel is absolutely magical! Beautiful views of the lake, gorgeous courtyard with a flautist, lovely pool! I could go on!
Our room had a huge queen bed and a little sitting area at the side overlooking the lake! I felt like a princess sleeping in the bed!
After getting settled in the room we got a tour of the beautiful hotel and then sat down to an amazing Rajasthani dance and music show. We ordered room service that night which was yummy! The employees are extremely polite and helpful. Then we made our way to the pool which shimmered blue at night and had a breath taking view of udaipur palace! What a placid atmosphere!
After a great breakfast and a game of chess, we unfortunately had to leave but not before the staff treated us with a cake as it was my sisters birthday! This was so unexpected and sweet of them! They also gave us a little photo as a memory!
I will always remember Taj Lake Palace Udaipur and recommend everyone to visit! Definitely one of the best hotels I have visited.

Difficult to describe this place with a simple description here. All I'll say is you owe it too yourself to visit here at least once in your life. A few superlatives include the following -

1. service - The staff is incredibly professional and attentive to all guests. Just as an example, the Food and Beverage Manager went out of his way to design a dish specific to our needs on 2 different occasions. It was done without any fanfare or fuss.

2. ambiance - The setting of this place makes the experience almost a spiritual one. The lake, the castle like hotel, the amenities, etc. etc. It's unforgettable.

3. activities - There are an endless stream of activities for anyone's budget. The hotel has really nailed this and is an absolute delight for anyone wanting non-stop action or to just chill and do nothing at all.

I can go on and on but I think you get the picture. It was an experience full of memories which I won't soon forget.

We stayed as a honeymoon treat on our wider travels, for just the one night. In the knowledge that we were recently married, the Lake Palace really pulled out all the stops. We were greeted by name by several staff and then upgraded from a delux to The Royal suite, at no extra cost. When we stepped into the room (after a flower shower, cooling drink and stunning tour)...we couldn't believe our eyes. The room was proportioned like an apartment. A walk-in wardrobe (complete with 4 silk robes, slippers and gold stitched laundry bags), four poster bed, breakfast table and chairs, marble en suite, hand painted 300yr old ceilings, a silk and golden elephant chain swing-seat suspended from our front 'porch' and a marble royal turret off our private veranda from which to enjoy the sunset to the west and the evening dance performances below...as the King once did.

Further still, a chocolate gateau with an Udaipurian style portrait of a courting couple iced on top (sensational...absolutely delicious) was prepared for our arrival and placed under a golden Indian umbrella (also given as a gift) with a silver bowl of fruits, in our room for our enjoyment.

We spent the afternoon at the pool and enjoyed cubed fruits, chilled rose and mint facial spray, cooling flannels and iced Himalayan water, all courtesy of the hotel.

That evening, we enjoyed the dancing and a stunning traditional Rajasthani meal. Owing to our previously completed concierge forms, the chefs already knew our allergies and spice preferences - every last detail was anticipated and managed seemlessly. The chef was even courteous enough to come out and greet us and has kindly since, emailed us his recipes for our favourite of the dishes we tried.

Turn down was the best we've ever known. My glasses were placed on an optical lense cloth for their protection: my jewellery placed in velvet boxes for theirs: a poem and truffles laid on our bed: rose petals, oils and body scrub on a silver tray for the bath...the details are endless.

After an evening of pure perfection, I was hugely disappointed to wake with a migraine and missed out on a much looked forward to breakfast and sunrise yoga session. My husband called reception to inform them and change arrangements and iced cucumber slices and water were sent to the room. We were also given an extended check out time so I could relax and recover before departing.

Even on departure, we were presented with an ornate wooden box of traditional incense sticks and burners to take with us on our travels.

As my husband said at the time "this is our Concorde moment, it will never ge better than this", so enjoy it and drink up every second, it really is perfection.
