I will start by saying my friend and I shared the suite featured in th e pictures and it was even lovelier in person. If Udaipur didn't have so much to offer I could have sat in the window seat reading all day long. Instead, other friends joined us for cocktails and watched Lake Pichola shimmer in the pink of evening. At night we ate twice on the rooftop terrace. The City Palace shined brightly on the hill and the islands were alight. Food was delicious and reasonable. Usually, I prefer to eat at different places when traveling, but we all agreed it was too good to go elsewhere. Perhaps my favorite time though was sitting in the open window seat of the restaurant for breakfast, which was included. A waiter served us on a small table set on the seat as we watched parakeets and pigeons swop outside. The staff were friendly and helpful. The waiter who frequently served us even stopped by to say goodbye our last day. Hope to come back.

The fish was buried in a rich creamy curry and both disliked it as it was cold when delivered and had to be reurned to the kitchen to be re-heated. The Italian food, was tasteless. I asked for more chesse and was given some but the peso dish lacked any flavor. There are other restrauants in the area with much better Pesto. We were all disapointed because of the TA reviews.

We stayed here a for a couple of nights and couldn't recommend it enough. The staff were lovely, the whitewashed court yards are gorgeous and the rooms very comfortable and characterful. The highlights - this is right in the middle of Udaipur with great views out over the lake. And the restaurant - delicious food and spectacular views . The fresh air and cool blues of a rooftop breakfast here has to rate as my favourite place to start the day.

Room Tip: Get one that overlooks the lake

Although the hotel restaurant boasts fairly good views and has attentive service, the food is definitely lacking compared to other places nearby. The portions were extremely small for the price and I left feeling hungry despite spending more than at other restaurants during my stay in Udaipur.

First visit to Udaipur and couldnt have found a better place to stay. Had booked two standard rooms which were clean and welcoming. The service is excellent and quick. Just amazing.

Complete value for price paid.

We were 3 couples and were there for 4 nites. The hotel is a heritage property and is personally managed by the owners on daily basis. We had an excellent stay and there are no words which can describe the place and hospitality. The location is awesome, just on the lake Pichola. Hotel is situated in charming lane and stone throw from local shopping, restaurants, tailors, massage, convenience stores and city palace. It could not have been better situated, though when reaching the hotel in a taxi for the first time, one feels that lanes are very narrow, but that is the beauty. To roam around in the city, autorikshaws are available just outside the hotel and are the most convenient way of exploring Udaipur. The management is very caring and supportive of guest. They even allow early check-in and are not much fussy about early check-out. They are quite flexible if they have rooms available. The house keeping is good and quality of amenities is very nice in the toilets. They do not have tea/coffee machine in room. The room service is very fast and the quality of food is very very good and fresh. The food may look a bit expensive, but then again if you looking for quality then there is always a price for that. The restaurant is overlooking the lake and has many jharokhaas to sit and chill. Roof top is beautiful and you can have a romantic dinner there. Staff is very courteous and very very helpful. The whole place makes you feel like a king. The pricing of rooms is very economical as compared to other similar properties which don't even have a view. I am definitely going back to this property next year and advise to all to stay here. I thank the management and staff for making our holiday a memorable one. Thank you so much. Wishing the hotel, best times to come.

Room Tip: Ask for lake view rooms.

I will start by saying that my two week trip to India was very last minute organised by Imagine India who made our time so memorable and seamless!!! The Jagat niwas palace is beautiful. Hidden amongst the streets of udaipur that you can only get round by tuktuk! We arrived after a very long train journey from Agra and so were very eager to see the hotel and relax. The entrance is small and so is the reception but it opens up into a wonderful courtyard and overlooks the lake and the palace giving the most amazing view. The rooms are clean although a little tired but the food and the service certainly make up for that. It is difficult to do the hotel justice but it was everything you could want from the beautiful city of Udaipur. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
