We were thrilled to stay here. Had booked into another hotel next door by mistake which was horrible and more expensive than Jagat Niwas. After one night there, we were lucky to get first an expensive room with a view for one night and then two nights in a cheaper room. Both were comfortable and good value.

Yes, breakfast is expensive, but you cannot beat the view or convenience.

PROS
- Right on the shore of Pochala Lake, close to the Lake Palace Hotel
- The hotel is a bright, spacious oasis at the end of an alley
- Clean and well provisioned
- Staff are well trained, helpful, unobtrusive and courteous
- The room (#102) was huge, with a bay window right over the water

CONS
- Pigeons roosting above the windows created a lot of early morning racket
- A request to the rooftop restaurant to make the aloo matar 'hot' didn't work — it was well made, but bland (the tandoori chicken, on the other hand, was excellent)

WOULD WE STAY THERE AGAIN? Oh, yes.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the lake are fantastic, but rooms without a view cost half as much and are still excellent rooms.

Rm 102 comfortable, spacious (watch your head and the many steps inside), spectacular views of both lakes.
Food lovely but prices 2x to 3x more than others around. Breakfast not included (approx 350Rp pp)
Room 102 had no WiFi past doorway due to thick walls.
Spent much of one day lazing in one of the spectacular restaurant bay windows with magical views of lake, good connectivity and ability to order lunch at whim.
Roof top tables need to be booked (try the peanut curry).
Location was so good and food so good we just sucked up the high food and drink charges and enjoyed the ambience.

Our stay here was excellent. The staff were friendly, very quickly learned our quirks such as black coffee and cold milk with tea and knew which room we were in. We enjoyed the roof top restaurant for evening meals with an excellent local menu and used the covered restaurant for breakfasts. The views were wonderful.
Our room was a little tired, but the bed comfy, the shower good and the view from the window seat as good as from the roof.
If you stay here go for a room with a view.

We were hoping on to different places each day during our 4 days at Udaipur and one of the places we stayed was this place. It is nicely located, rooms are decorated beautifully however are small and cramped in size. The restaurant by the lake is a nice place. Location is fantastic and staff also good.
