We were wowed by the location - a hotel on an island in the middle of the beautiful Jaisamand lake.

No debate on the location. The hotel is an absolute apology - it has the facade of an expensive hotel - but the rooms and everything else inside is absolutely lousy. The bathroom had towels from the Oberoi in it, and they were lousy too. Nice touch.

We wasted a day in our journey, because we chose this place. We checked-in in the morning, checked out an hour later, because we couldn't stand the hotel. We were in two minds about this decision, because of the scenery outside... but then this hotel is a blot on such a wonderful scenic place.

Am glad we got out of there, and headed to the Udaipur and checked into the Amet Haveli.

We had organized a trip to celebrate a personal event and had a group of 60 members from my extended family. We stayed 2 nights. It was a breathtaking environment in the midst of hills and the lake. We loved being away from the city, in the middle of nowhere. The rooms were spacious. The food was disappointing, though.

We wanted to go out for a weekend break with family so we selected Jaisamand which is abt 250 km from Ahmedabad, The road to udaipur is amazing accept the last patch that leads to the resort .You have to park your vehicle about 3-4 kms away from the resort since it is located in the middle of the lake and the you have to reach the resort by boat. The rooms in which we stayed were pretty old and very poorly maintained but they also had some newly renovated rooms which were already booked.Few of my friends who had visited Jaisamand before had complained about food being not good but my personal experience was quite opposite. The food they served was amazing It was the best food I have ever had in my life. The pool was neat and had a wonderful view .We also used the Jacuzzi which was not bad at all . They even have a small room for indoor games like table tennis and carrom.

This Island Resort is the ultimate in relaxation and good choice if you want to break free from the maddening crowds and city life for a while.

Situated on an island that is located in the middle of Asia's largest man-made lake (that's what the owner's claim!) it is a big property with lots of rooms spread across the island and on 3-4 storeys.

It has a big pool, jacuzzi, camel ride on resort lawns, club house, games, gym, sauna and steam bath etc. so it is fully loaded with most items of comfort and luxury. The rooms are huge in their size and tastefully decorated with Rajasthani artefacts. The service is average but not bad as such.

The rates are mostly on package basis of 3/4 days including breakfast etc. The food is good in this resort and you can enjoy a wide variety of Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisine dishes. I just loved the new variety everyday.

I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants a break and pure relaxation in lap of nature. You can see the big lake and mountains all around the resort no matter which part of the resort you're standing at. A good get-away!
