“Dirty sheets, many moisterizers, no shampoo”
Reviewed 18 August 2012 via mobile

The staf is friendly, but the room was not nice. Bedcover with stai s, but the upper sheet gave the impf
Ression being used before. They changed after our remarks and the extra towels had a mu h better quality. Also than the shampoo arrived. We really don't need lots of soaps, showercaps or moisterizers. So it was not inspected properly. The tv gave a view with a lot of snow. Bathroom was clean enough.
Rooftop was closed and shabby with covers over the seats, so it did not invite to spend their some time. The lakeview was nice.
Breakfast was average, with extra porridge or cornflakes.
I would no-one advise to vo their or go back there myself. I think it is overpriced compared to other hotels.

We stayed at this hotel for just one night and thats where we made a mistake. We should have stayed for at least two more days. One because there is so much to see and feel in Udaipur and two because this is a great place to stay.
This hotel is located at the best possible location. It is right next to the lake and one can view the city palace right across. Although getting there takes some effort because the old city has very narrow lanes, but the effort is worth it.
Once inside you feel like having walked into a kings palace. The place has a warm and comforting feel to it. The staff is very courteous and helping. The manager can advice you about the sight seeing in and around Udaipur also.
The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The view from the balcony is fantabulous. You are sitting right at the edge of the lake. During the day you can see all the old buildings on the other side of the lake and watch and actually hear the people across the lake. At night it gets even better, specially from the roof top restaurant, when you can see the illuminated palaces. The view from the roof top is amazing. The restaurant staff is also very well mannered and the food was great.
To summarize, it is the best place to stay in Udaipur and real value for money.

Room Tip: Go for the lake facing rooms.

This hotel has the most beautiful view of Udaipur, specially from the rooftop. Each room has an balcony where you can look and listen what is happening at the other side of the lake. It's just beautiful

The hotel is an old palace with a wonderful collection of old pictures and paintings.

The staff is very, very nice and helpful.

I totally recomend having a swim in the lake and crossing to the floating palace!!

It's in the heart of the city and bank of the Lake Pichola..Lake facing rooms are great. It's a heritage hotel. Nice rooms...best part of the rooms are their "Jharokha" and a royal bed with cushions, from there you can see view of Lake, city Palace and Taj Palace...Vies is awesome in night...

Their roof -top swimming pool is great...We enjoyed a lot...my 2 yrs daughter enjoyed the swimming pool..We stayed for 3 days..they have arranged auto-taxi for city tour and also arranged milk for our baby on a single call.

Their roof top hotel and bar are awesome..great food and service...Must try their "Mutton Dhungar" and "Lal Maas" dishes..It' Rajasthan's speciality..Major restaurants and sites are very close to this hotel like..."Baghore Ki haveli"..there we have enjoyed various excellent folk dances and puppet show...Hotel will provide city guide...there you will find a lot of places to visit....Udaipur is mix up Lakes and hills....if u want to visit both go to Udaipur.

Last but not the least...this is a nice economical hotel for families and couples..gr8 food and service.excellent locaation..value for money. I recommend this hotel to all visitors.

Room Tip: 2nd floor lake facing rooms are nice...specialty corner one..

Located at edge of Lake Pichola, the rooms of this hotel offer a magnificent view of City Palace across the lake. The hotel has a very well maintained terrace top restaurant with extremely courteous staff. The quality of food as well as the quality of service are appreciable. Plus the experience of having dinner while enjoying a view of the lake on a dimly lit table was definitely a memorable one. Besides the facilities, there was one thing about this hotel that is making me write this review. It is the willingness of the hotel staff to serve their guests. It is often said that satisfied employees lead to satisfied customers. I would like to give the credit to the owners of the hotel for taking good care of their employees, because of which the employees take good care of their customers.

Following major incompetence by our booking company, Agoda, we were put into this hotel instead of our planned stay at Jagat Niwas Palace Hotel.

The Lake Pichola Hotel is located on the opposite side of the lake to the main attractions such as the City Palace. That said, it offers spectacular views across the lake that would otherwise be missed.

We were put in a suite, which was just gorgeous. Lots of space, massive bathroom, and two balcony areas perfect for gazing across Lake Pichola itself. The room had marble floors, with India rugs and was spotlessly clean.

On the hotel's roof there is a swimming pool and an evening restaurant offering even more amazing views of Udaipur. The pool was a perfect place to relax after a hot day's sightseeing.

The restaurant serves up excellent food at a very reasonable price. Breakfast is included in some tariffs, and is served in the ground-floor restaurant. Again it is reasonable priced, and enough to set you up for the day. You can choose from a number of set breakfast menus, or a la carte. This was where we were introduced to lemon soda – an amazingly simple and refreshing drink, which we continued to drink throughout out stay in India.

Although the hotel is situated on the opposite side of the lake to the main attractions, it only takes about ten minutes to walk to the other side. Or, as we did, flag down a tuk-tuk!

Overall, we would recommend this hotel for the rooms, food, location and those stunning roof top views!
