Normally we stay in 5 star hotels, but This is a great value for money hotel! The staff is super friendly, the location is great and the rooms are clean. I forgot 400 euros in the room, they returned it to me. Very nice romantic, cute touches everywhere. Highly recommend this location especially considering the large amount of relatively expensive hotels in Udaipur.

The streets to the hotel are very narrow so we couldn't get our small bus in - had to transfer to a car, but it worked out ok. Enjoyed the morning walks down to the bridge to meet up with the bus. Had to dodge the odd spit from the locals though. Not the sort of place to walk around unaccompanied at night. The front entrance is definitely funky - reflective tiles and loveable lion statues. There was a large construction site next door which was distracting. Our friend had a large corner room, but our room was a bit cramped for 2 single beds and suitcases. We liked the rooftop pool and resturant, but also found a couple of other very good restaurants near by.
Our highlight in Udaipur was finding the Bougainvillaea Gallery, but I couldn't find a site for it on Trip Advisor, so thought I'd mention it here. A modern gallery that surprised all our group. A very nice change from all the touristy places our guides seemed to think we should go to.

Room Tip: Didn't see them all, but our friend had a corner room with a breakfast alcove which was very com...

Dear Guest,

Greetings from Udai Kothi!!!

I would like to thank you for your valuable time in sending us the feedback.
The lanes are very narrow as this is an old city where are Hotel is situated. These lanes and roads are hundreds years old, cannot really do much however we try to arrange pick up and drop in hotel jeep to a particular spot, so the guest are comfortable.

Thank you and looking forward to meet you on your next visit.

We stayed here for 2 nights from 23rd October 2013 and really enjoyed this hotel. Our room was number 3 and was excellent and huge. The bathroom was exceptionally good. The hotel had paid attention to detail for everything from the tea/coffee making facilities to the bathroom amenities. On our second day, we were in the room when it was serviced and watched as the kettle was filled with bottled water ready for us to boil. The shower was great, the aircon was very good. The rooftop restaurant has a very nice location and outlook. The gardens are well maintained and tropical and the owner's dachshund is adorable. Breakfast was included and was very nice. We travelled as part of a tour group and I did see another room which was not as big or luxurious as the one we had, so room choice could be important. Service staff were generally very polite and efficient. The only slight criticism I would make, is to suggest that the front desk staff become a little more welcoming and friendly in their approach.

We booked the hotel upon arrival. Got a fair deal for 2N3D (between 8th ~ 10th October 2013) including breakfast.

The hotel is is actually one of the better places to stay comparing with other hotels of similar grade, barring ofcourse the 5 starers. The frontal view of the hotel itself was quite pleasing & a deal maker of sorts. The location / road leading to the hotel may not please all, but that's the way the old city is built; with very narrow & congested lanes. Enjoy it the way it is.

Also be prepared to shell out minimum 100 bucks for a rickshaw ride even as 'FAR' as half a kilometer. The rickshaw walas are a tourist rip-off.

The owner of the place is quite a charming & helpful woman. She treats the visitors as her guests & not as clients. She acquaints herself with all guests & makes them feel at home. That's one of the USP of this property.

The rooms are colourful & tastefully done keeping in mind the Rajasthani culture. The housekeeping & reception are also quite helpful & efficient. The hotel boasts of a roof top swimming pool & restaurant which looks very beautiful when lit up at night.

It was quite a decent experience to say the least. Definitely recommended.

We stayed at Udai Kothi for one night but it was enough to fall in love with the place. The room we stayed in was beautiful, full of small details.
I only regret not having the chance to dine in the little rotunda with lake view. You need to booked in advance.

Udai Kothi is the first hotel that ever tried to extort me (They refused to honor their own cancellation policy, refusing to refund my money unless I showed up in person). It's also the first hotel that served me broken glass in my breakfast. But I won't waste any more time on this cynical commercial enterprise masquerading as a heritage hotel.
