This hotel is very good staff of the hotel are very good and friendly food is Good but not for Indians because of Europeans we were warmly welcomed on arrival with flowers and welcome drink the drawback of the hotel is its location because the roads to the hotel are very narrow if a vehicle comes in front of you you cannot even walk otherwise it's best hotel to stay and worth to pay for it I stayed for 2nights breakfast is good and best for vegetrains

Those in the know consider this to be the best hotel in the city and certainly the best value. The location is nice and quiet and the hotel itself has been decorated with the most beautiful eye for detail with a wide array of fascinating antiques and items of cultural interest. The rooftop pool is like an oasis and the rooms are simply beautiful, especially the more delux options with sunken marble baths. The restaurant, also on the roof, is very well appointed and the food is very nice. The service is good with very courteous staff, although a little bit slow at times. This was one of my favourite hotels in India, we went for one night and stayed almost a week, you won't regret coming here.

We stayed at the Udai Kothi Hotel for 2 nights as part of our Travel Indochina Highlights of Rajasthan Tour.

Amazing looking hotel and very close, walking distance into the main town, city palace and docks for boats for rides on the lake. Also several good restaurants close by.

Our room was on the top floor and was quite large and nicely furnished and clean.
The only downside with the room was we heard this LOUD banging noise through the ceiling. We later worked out that we were under the rooftop pool and the noise was people swimming in the pool and it echoing through the pool floor into our room. Apart from this the room was fine.

Initial reception was good but service went downhill from there on.

Breakfast was included and we ate both days in the restaurant.
The food was OK but the actual restaurant could not handle all of the guests and people were packed in on communal tables. It was hot, stuffy and they even permitted people to smoke at the dining tables inside the restaurant.

We had dinner the first night at the rooftop restaurant which has great views and I should leave it there but won’t as people need to know how bad the service was.
We waited nearly 2 hours for our meal whilst we saw many other people getting their meals. We asked the wait staff several times what was happening with our food especially after we thought we saw it sat on a bench waiting to be served. Finally they decided to serve us and yes it had been our meal waiting on the bench for 30 minutes. After this long a wait most of us just ate the luke warm food except for one persons which was uncooked and cold. This one meal was sent back twice and even then it still came out cold.

We finally got to speak to the manager when she appeared again and got apologies and were told that they would not charge for the meal.

At checkout we had still be charged in full for the meals but as we didn’t have time at checkout as it was 5am as we were catching an early flight and the manager was not available we didn’t get it resolved.

Again really nice hotel and good location, just bad service and if you want to eat go elsewhere as there are many good choices around you, including across the road right on the lake where you can get a great biryani within 10 minutes.

Room Tip: Don't get a room under the pool, you can hear people swimming and the sound is amplified.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your valuable feedback, we apologize for all the inconvenience that was caused by us. We regret we unable to provide good service at the restaurant. We try our best to give bets service, we are aware the dinning hall is too small for breakfast, we shall be coming up with a bigger dinning hall soon. We are trying our best to provide the best hospitality, kindly give us an opportunity to meet upto your expectations.

Regarding the room below the pool we are extremely sorry, as it was peak season time we were unable to change your room as we have back to back arrivals. We certainly would have offered a change of room.

Once again requesting to give us an opportunity to deliver the best of hospitality.

warm regards

On arrival you are welcomed with garlands, a glass of rose and lime juice and warm smiles. Our room was beautiful; a large marble bath, a changing area and a sitting area as well as very comfortable bed. Beautiful rooftop pool and restaurant. The buffet is good and the breakfast is fine but not great. A very good place to use as a base for exploring the city. I would certainly stay here again. One panic moment when the ancient lift stuck but staff were soon there to help.

You feel as though you have stepped back in time as you enter this grand old hotel.
The decor throughout is lovely. This was my 3rd stay at this hotel, The rooms are spacious and breakfast selections varied and tasty.
Perfect setting just up from the lake with easy walking to the shopping areas.

Room Tip: I've had a lovely room each time, but once we splurged and took one of the suites. WOW!!
