I was overwhelmed my the legacy of this place , it had filled me with excitement , walking by this palace made me felt so royal , stories related to it will make more inquisitive .. this is huge palace one part is still live where royal family reside, one is converted into hotel and other is open for tourists

Worth getting a tuk-tuk up to the top of the hill then you can walk back down through the town. We didn't go in the museum but plenty to enjoy in the grounds and you can walk through to the lake (the boat trip is cheap and fun)

This is an average place, though a must visit if you are planning trip in Udaipur.
This isn't maintained well, and also you need to go up and down from lots of stairs and narrow spaces to see this.
I could see some portions being renovated so hopefully one day it will look in a well maintained condition.
The palace essentially consists of museum and similar that tells history about the place.

After a good 15 min walk (climb) from the last place cars can go, you reach the start of the palace tour. First off is the display of weapons n clothes. Then goes on & on for ever, climbing up n climbing down thru narrow, very narrow, stairs n walkways. Its almost like you get in and no way out but to go thru it. Watch out if you are going during summer or with elderly folk.
Reco: be prepared for at least 2 hours inside and longer if hiring a guide. For a local cab we had hired Mr.Ajay Singh(09829327423) who charged 1800 for a/c innova for a full day, lower than what others asked for. As well as no time limit, most folks said 2.2k for cab from 10-5, but this guy neither restricted us on time we spent in at any place as well as acted as a guide and took us all around until about 10pm and yet dint take a penny extra.
