“comfortable stay”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

We visited this hotel in Dec 2013 with family for holiday at Udaipur. This place is away from lake and is modern hotel. It is not haveli type of hotel. We booked late so all other hotels were already booked and we could get the booking. This place is near to places like Saliyon ki badi etc. and u can enjoy evening walk. The stay was comfortable and we had nice trip.

We had a nice trip and comfortable stay in Hotel Golden Tulip at Udaipur. Since I paid the money in advance thru clear Trip, I need not wait for making bill etc at the desk. That was quite good to catch our return flight in time. The hotel staff is very co-operative.

Had been to this hotel in February 2014 with family for a holiday of Udaipur, and surroundings.
Had a very bad experience......due to the taken-for-granted attitude of the management and the staff. This hotel mainly cater to the bus-loads of tourists both foreign and Indian only for one night stay on their tour to Rajasthan and Gujarat. Since this hotel cater to such group tours for over night stay, nobody will have time or energy to complain about anything and since we stayed there for three days and two nights, we could notice all the drawbacks. Locality of the hotel is in a crowded city road surrounded by a pertol pump and residential houses and if one imagine lush green surroundings and lake side of Udaipur, it will not be the fault of the hotel !! Right from bath towel to everything, you have to beg and remind for hundred times....broken bathroom fittings and run down A/cs....very .small coffee shop....if you are not early in the breakfast table many of the items will vanish in a jiffy and no refilling will be there and you have to settle for the whatever is left. ......

Room Tip: If you could not a better place and left with no option this one will be Ok, that too for a overnigh...

My first visit: ordered for an amazing caprese salad , I wanted to eat this amazing Italian delicacy in the the comfort of my home. And to my astonishment I find amul cheese with raw tomato and no basil, hahahha we took the cheese and mixed it with our pasta,

My second visit: I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt and went back again for a meal, waited for 15 minutes for a menu, waited for another 10 minutes for water. Waited forever for some one to look upon us to take the order, finally!!!!!! He poor server came, he could hardly understand us, felt like he was extremely scared and that he was in an interview, we placed our order, some sangria for a sunny afternoon, a nice Thai lemon grass chicken soup, some seekh gilafi kebab and jhinga hara pyaz with some Indian breads, the description of them all on the menu looked so very appetising , but little did I knw that it was start to a horrid afternoon, the first downfall, no sangria available, the second downfall, the Thai soup was like water with chicken chunks no lemon grass, the seekh kebab mysteriously came to us as chicken seekh kebab, the jhinga hara pyaz was as tough and strong as a stone, I was struggling to cut it even with a knife, we had reached a stage of utter disgust, we cried for help and requested for the chef to be called, out came the kitchen regular chef in a horribly dirty uniform, completely unaware about the food, we again requested for the manager , to which the hostess of the restaurant came and told us that there is no manager on shift, out of utter irritation I told her to call any senior person on shift, then came a elderly gentleman saying he was the assistant manager of the restaurant, we told him out grievances which I much add we're not something over the top , it's the least that we could expect from a hotel of this caliber , he seemed extremely sympathetic, and offered us alternatives, but all we wanted to do was scoot, we asked for the check, thinking that they would be kind enough and not charge us for the food since we had ZILCH!!!!!! But to my surprise we were charged for it,

Incase u wish u experience what it feels like to dine at a place that has zero value for money in Udaipur I suggest u come the golden tulip

The staff is extremely cordial and the food quality is one of the best. The place is easily connected to all the attractive spots of udaipur. There is no spa and there is no pool. This is a good hotel for corporate events too

The hotel was centrally located and perhaps of the 4-star class with matching facilities. The lobby with an atrium provided a good ambience. The room/bath were well appointed and service prompt. The food was good with a wide spread-veg and Non-veg. wifi and live Indian music in the evenings were added attractions. As one didn't make use of the swimming pool/Gym one can't comment on it. The reception desk as well as other service personnel were very courteous. We had a pleasant stay for four days at Golden Tulip and has no hesitations in recommending to others. It was value for money.
