The location is the only advantage of this property as it is by the lake.
Getting there is difficult and the hotel Management cannot do anything about is, But they can at least guide us (which they didnt).
The attitude of the Manager was the last straw in my horrible experience.
There was a Booking portal miscommunication and the Manager had to be forced / bullied to hear my side of the story, which he didnot accept.
To top it all the discrimination I was subjected on the basis of my National Background, That too in my own country, by my own countryman was Too Much.

Room Tip: Choose Lakefacing rooms, if you take the risk of booking this hotel.

I would rate it (-)5 the worst stay and a big cheat. Be careful. Location is by the lake but to reach there you will loose half your energy. Then every thing is bad. Especially do not book unless you see it. They charge big money but rate is no more than rupees 500 per room. I got terribly ceated by the travel arranger and teh hotel. Also planning to post a complain to tourism department for taking money and nt paying the bill. Changing terms while leaving the hotel. JUST AVOID.

after checking 5 hotels in early morning we choose Sarovar, we were looking for heritage hotel but quality is not good compar to price. If you are indian , you will not like heritage hotel here, coz they make fool NRI. although we choose lake facing room , quite spacious and clean as compare to to othe rhotels in this category. staff is very helpfull , even they boiled my daughty's feeder bottels without any cost. food is expensive so enjoy food outside.I will def recommend this hotel

Nothing much to share for this hotel but definitely like to stay it was a nice hotel decently maintained and was definitely good in budget category. the lake facing room were good but was quiet surprised with the rooms as they were large enough a balcony could be carved out specially in lake view side. The rooms could have been much better. Bathrooms were spacious too and interior of the bathrooms can be improved too. Anyways the room were good and the stay was comfortable. Only problem faced was running out of hot water around 10 pm ( a minor gltich)

Room Tip: Please select the lake view room they are really good as you always have excellent view of the lake

There are probably better alternatives. We were "upgraded" to this hotel by MakeMyTrip because the cheaper hotel we had booked was full..

Most of the staff don't speak English too well so communication is a bit more challenging than it should be in a hotel in this price category.

Our room had views of a backyard. The floor was very cold. Old CRT TV. Hot water is not 100% reliable. Besides that it was totally ok.

The rooftop restaurant has nice views of the city palace, some ghats and bridges :) The breakfast (included) is ok, but slow.

Laundry service is ok but...when my white shirt came back it was wrapped around a newspaper page.... obviously this stained the shirt with black spots. I returned it and told the guys in the hotel reception to tell the laundry not to wrap it around news paper. But the shirt came back in the same way the second time too.... Not the brightest laundry crew I guess.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
From the moment our guests pass through the grand haveli styled gates of the Sarovar and enter in to the cool marble facade reception area, a realization of having made the right choice of hotel settles in. The reception leads into an attractive lobby with its captivating outlook over Lake Pichola and the ghats across. Hotel Sarovar possesses an elegance that brings modern comforts in a traditional style. The hotel hangs on the very edge of Lake Pichola with unique views across the water body and towards the old part of Udaipur, the Indian city of lakes. Each room is spotlessly clean & tastefully ambient in style. At Sarovar we do not rely on chandeliers and gilt, or expensive fabrics and vast spacious lobbies to impress, nor do we believe these are enough to create the impression of luxury. Rather it is every little detail in the hotel that makes it easier for our guests to feel comfortable and welcome and that is what we strive to achieve the desired effect with. It is every interaction with every team member that makes the guests believe they are an individual and their experience is unique. It is the fact that at Sarovar voices are not raised and scents are not overpowering. It is the meticulous maintenance of our product - whether it is the finest quality or not - that helps in creating that perception of luxury. At Sarovar luxury is not expensive - it is borne of simplicity and a focus on making the experience seamless. ... more   less
