I stayed for 2 nights in January after arriving from Pushkar. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

The rooms are old school, but that is the style they are aiming for. The rooms are well furnished and very atmospheric. The downside for me was the bathroom, a little grotty. Could definitely do with a good clean, the bath had stains.

The main town is a 10 min walk away, I'm undecided as to whether that's a good or bad thing. It's certainly quieter outside the centre.

In winter the rooms are cold. We were given plenty of blankets and a heater but it still felt cold.

It's not a bad a choice here; I had a good stay.

1) Location :- walking distance from city palace and Tibet market, 5 min auto drive for lake pichola, jagdish temple, bagore ki hawali and dudh talai. Perfectly located.
2) Hotel:- have a beautiful lawn, sufficient open space and swimming pool. Nice staff.
3) Restaurant:- Food is not good, serving time is too much. Better to have food outside. I would suggest Jaivana haweli restaurant.
4) Ambiance : quite, cool and relaxing.
5) Parking :- There is no parking in hotel but they can arrange.

I visited Udaipur on 23-24th of December 2012. The Hotel is the perfect place in Udaipur to stay. It is near to City Palace, Bhagore Ki haveli, Lake and Other attractions.
The Service is extraordinary. The Room Service is a bit slow, but the food is worth the wait.
Ambiance of the Hotel is great and peaceful.
They are very punctual of time and the Check in and Check Out times are non-negotiable.
The Hotel Rates are affordable even in peak seasons.

Room Tip: All rooms are extraordinary. Feel free to stay in any room.

We spent 2 nights at Udaipur and had a great experience at Rangniwas Palace. The room was ornately decorated and very clean. The best part was the jhula and garden which more than compensated for the size of the room. The service was prompt and food was tasty. It was conveniently located close to the palace, market and lake.
Overall a relaxing stay. Definitely recommended.

This historic property has potential but sorely lacks in customer service and I was made to feel very unwelcome.
Later, two local drivers also confirmed that this used to be a great place to stay but over the years it has become run down and lacks any customer service.

The taxi I had arranged from the airport was timely and satisfactory.
Unfortunately upon arriving the man at the front desk was rude, curt and very unwelcoming after a very LONG day of travel. There was NO greeting upon arrival instead it was a formal and rude " I need your passport and "what time are you leaving tomorrow?"
Wow, I just arrived (9:00 P.M)and could not have had been made to feel worse.

I booked a large suite and it did have lots of character. However the shower did not work and only a small trickle of cold water would come out. The towels were threadbare and lacked what you would expect at this expensive rate.

One positive was the staff in the restaurant were accommodating and that included a kind room service waiter.

Overall the location is not great (located on a busy road a distance from the lake) very rude customer service from the front desk man and disappointing somewhat run down facilities.

The property could be great but unfortunately it is NOT.
I was glad to leave as soon as I could first thing in the morning. Additionally, I was asked two more times in the morning from the same man when I was leaving. So rude!

In conclusion Udaipur is a magical city. Stay in the city near the beautiful lake and avoid booking this property.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!!!
