“Good Hotel worth staying”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

It is a very small and cozy hotel with 16 odd rooms . The staff is very polite and service is good . A swimming pool is also provided .
Hotel served Break fast but the hotel restaurent was under renovation so they didnt provide lunch and dinner but we can find plenty of options near by so no worries
The hotel location is very good . City palace , lake , Market , Haveli , vintage car museum are in walkable range .
The bus stand and railway station is also just 2 to 3 km distance .

On approach RANGNIWAS seemed like a small dingy lil place and I was left to wonder weather I should even step in and check it out .. but since we drove in all the way into the city which was by chance merely a stopover... Rangniwas came as pleasant surprise. An eclectic mix with old architecture and ethnic indian interiors giving a feel of the ancient era while providing every modern facility. The lush entrance cleverly shelters the intimate swimming pool and the lovely gardens so as to ensure privacy of the guest. They also have a very cozy lounge with an extended book collection. We were fortunate to meet the owners of this lovely property who were extremely warm and hospitable. The staff was extremely polite and very helpful in guiding us during our stay. All in all a great experience.

Room Tip: Every room has its advantages.. some give you a common private sitting area with comfort chairs to s...

Udaipur was the first destination to our Rajasthan trip! Sadly, it started on the wrong foot with our luxury coach (Parswanath Travels - Do not ever use 'em!) dumping us in a non-AC coach despite having bought AC tickets!

Also, whilst making the booking at this hotel, we told them that we'd be arriving in early hours of the day and were assured that we could rest into the lounge till the check-in time. But it seemed that it wasn't taken notice of. So there we were at 0530 hours on the gate. Rang the bell, banged the big gate for 30 mins - non stop - to which nobody answered!!! After getting pissed we stayed at another hotel nearby for few hours, thanks to the rickshaw guy who came back to check upon us! Finally we came back as we'd booked 2 nights here.

Enter Ms. Pankajakshi at reception and things started getting a bit right. To be honest, we felt bit guilty afterwards for raining on them during check-in for not letting us in despite prior notice. But she took personal interest in making sure we were comfortable during the entire stay. Sadly, luck wasn't ready to sway to her side too as the room allocated to us was invaded by army of ants just as we checked in! No sooner we checked into our room, the staff had to go in as 'Ant Busters'.

However, we loved the location of the property. All the major tourist spots are at walking distance. The room was clean and so were the shower-toilet. Nice comfy bed, and a working AC (yay!). We were compensated for the inconvenience we had on the first day, which is a good gesture on business etiquette.

Her grand dad, Uncle of His Highness, was quite a personality to meet and talk. He told us the tales about the royal lineage and history of property. The manager and other staff were very helpful to us in finding various tourist spots nearby and other transport means leading to our next destination. For now they only serve breakfast but we were said that they'd have fully functional kitchen pretty soon.

Admittedly, this was one of the best stays on the trip and we would certainly come back again [hopefully somebody would open the gate for us next time ;-)]! Ms. Pankajakshi - We put our trust in you to become a very good hotelier.

The hotel is really neat and nice. The hospitality is very good as well. The location is what thrilled me! It is at a place where all the site-seeing places are close by! The serve only breakfast, but you can find hotels for lunch and dinner pretty close by! The stay was pleasant and nice!

We selected this hotel for a one night stay, not expecting much out of it! But, we were pleasantly surprised as its a really nice place. Neat and clean rooms, big size toilets, nice garden, good food, good service, pleasant staff, close location to the main attraction : City Palace, and very very reasonably priced . Had we not booked the next two nights in another place, we would have opted to stay back in this Rang Nivas Palace Hotel only. They also have a small swimming pool! What more does one want?
The owners take personal care, specially the food is managed by the daughter of the owner and she's always ready to serve with a smile. There is some renovation work going on, they are expanding the hotel, but it didn't come in our way at all.

Room Tip: All rooms are good!

I was at the Ragniwas Palace for only two days but I felt very well there, kind of like at home. The restaurant was in renovation (oct.13), but that didn't bather: soon it'll reopen. Over all it is a tranquil, harmonic place with nice gardens, full of history and friendly people. Without asking: I would choose it again, it's a good place to be.
