Myself and a friend (23&22 female) stayed here in February 2012 for three nights. It was a little more expensive than some of the guest houses we had stayed in but turned out to be worth it. We arrived very early in the morning but were greeted by Harsh, one of the owners, who showed us into the lounge area where there are sofas and comfy mattresses on the floor so we could have a nap until we could check in. There is also free wifi in the hotel and the lounge area, and a huge television! The hotel itself is spotless - and the rooms were just as clean. Double room with en suite was huge with a great view overlooking Lake Pichola. Always hot water and showers very powerful... the best shower had throughout our travels around India! The rooftop restaurant has fantastic views of the lake so not particularly necessary to have a room with a view- you can see for miles and it is great for watching the sunset in the evening. The food was of fantastic quality - the banana and honey crepes at breakfast were especially good! Staff all extremely attentive - couldn't say a bad word about them. The two brothers who own the hotel, Harsh and Yash, are very friendly and have great recommendations about what to see and where to go. They had some yummy banana cake from Edelweiss German bakery which we tried - definitely recommend that you visit it whilst in Udaipur, just a short walk from the hotel. Laundry also available at a reasonable price. All in all a great hotel which is worth that little bit extra.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view - although able to enjoy the view from the rooftop restaurant also.

You do have to pay a bit extra to stay here and breakfast and Laundry don't come cheap by Indian standards but the helpful and courteous staff make you forget that you had a bit of a splurge. Well done guys

We really enjoyed our stay here - the staff were all very friendly and went out of the their way to help you where they could. The roof top is very pretty to enjoy the day too!

Room Tip: go room 31!

Perfectly located on the shore of Lake Pichola with amazing views to the lake, the Lake Palace and the mountains in the background. Nice hotel with a historic touch. Rooftop restaurant ok. Decent rooms, but the beds are not very comfy. All in all a nice stay, and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

I stayed here in early june with my family early june. The hotel has a great location right on the lake, very clean, and the staff have a good service orientation. The hidden gem in my view is the roof top restaurant. In my four nights in udaipur i ate at several places including the much feted ambrai, but i felt that the food at jaiwana roof top was by far the best, mainly because it is small and all the food is cooked fresh ! Try the thali ! Yash the owner is a nice helpful guy with a passion for providing a good experience to guests. But this is a budget hotel, so please dont expect fancy frills. Just good clean rooms and decent good food.

Room Tip: Just dont fall for the hype of room 21 and 31 pasted across reviews. Undoubtedly they have better vi...

We spent an entire week at the Jaiwana Haveli Udaipur in May 2012, we had booked our rooms in the month of February and were assured of lake facing rooms by Mr Yash. We were not to be dissapointed, though the rooms are a wee bit small, the simplciity, hospitality and concern of the owners and the staff for the comfort of their guests compensates largely for it. Apart from the normal requirements being provided here as in other hotels, my family and I would like to appreciate the warmth extended to us not only by the staff and Mr Yash but also by Mr Yash's mother , Mrs Ranawat. She was like a grandmother to my teenage children and showed much concern when my daughter had a mild stomach ailment. All in all I would recommend Jaiwana Haveli to all those who are looking for quiet and tranquil moments and peaceful dinners at their rooftop restaurant.

Room Tip: The rooms on the top floor facing the lake have a great view.
