Early check in not a problem. Prompt internet response to queries and booking. Lift to room great for backpackers. The room was super, cosy & authentic decor. Linen spotless great bathroom with fantastic shower. We found the staff to be helpful, polite, obliging, friendly along with the tour office manager. The hotel was centrally located for sights, massage, shops and had a super roof top terrace/restaurant with fantastic views and food. The helpful restuarant manager mentioned the haveli pupper theatre, for which we were very grateful as it was more than amazing.
CAN'T FAULT THIS HOTEL - excellent $ value for accommodation, restaurant and tour bookings.

The hotel is very centrally and conveniently located , right next to govindji temple and the city palace. Also cadjoining the hotel is the cultural centre of the city and great leather shops selling books made of leather and hand paper.
Rooms are not exactly spacious but very neat and clean. Room service, welcoming and staff is pretty helpful. Great location.

Room Tip: Choose the deluxe double room , a room with view of the lake. Early morning breakfast at their terra...

My wife and I spent three nights at Mewar. We got a room that overlooked the lake and it was fantastic. It was my wife's birthday and the good folks at Mewar bought her a bouquet of roses; at the end of the night, they surprised her (and me!) with a cake on the beautiful roof top restaurant. Their initiative was very much appreciated. Harish at the travel desk also went out of his way to help us plan our itinerary, at one point sitting patiently with us for more than an hour. He was also helpful in booking cars, etc., in other cities, and actually followed-up by phone in another city to ensure that our driver was the correct one and we were in safe hands. All in all, a great experience.

We stayed three nights in this hotel and couldn't fault the service. The room was clean, well decorated and had lovely views. The Beakfast food is tasty and competitively priced. The staff were by far the most helpful we encountered during our stay in India. There is a little shop below which sells all the travel essentials ( plus old and new books) and can arrange trips for you. We went on a day tour to ranakpur and had a very pleasant driver. Ask them to contact salim to take you on a auto rickshaw tour of the city. He has very good English, and gave us more than our agreed time for no extra. No question about visiting shops, he just took us to the sites we wanted to see and suggested a few hidden extras.

This place is definitely excellent value for money.

Everyone who works here was super friendly. The room we got had a beautiful lake view, the beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The breakfast at the restaurant was just so-so, but at night it's a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the night.

Mewar Haveli – an impressive name but not quite a haveli. It is rather more of a three star guest house. Located on the banks of the lake, one gets an exquisite view of the lake, hotels and traditional around it and a panoramic view of the hills in the distance.

The rooms are comfortable in size, traditional interiors and very clean. I had a room at the very top which had a splended view and lovely interiors. Although a double room, but I would say, it was ideal for a single who likes to spread out!

The restaurant at the roof top is very cool and open on two sides which offers again a great view of the lake. The food is adequate, but nothing to rave about. Better restaurants can only be found in the main city and 5 star hotels.

The City Palace and the local market are within walking distance.

One can take an auto rickshaw or tuk tuk to check out the other sites and shop. One can even hire a car for the day for excursions to Chittorgarh and Nagda

The owners of the hotel are very friendly. They run a travel bureau and therefore one can get help with tickets and tours as well. A book and snack shop is also run by them next to the entrance of the hotel.

Room Tip: Write to the owners for good deals
