“too small rooms with a poor service.”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

it was a really bad choice for me when i entered in the room coz it was too small in size. stayed here for two nights but felt tht v r in a cage. the only gud thing in this hotel is its restaurant where u can get quality n tasty food but prices are on a higher side n u hav to wait for one hour for the morning tea even coz thr is only one man to serve the entire guests. terrible place to stay but if u r in udaipur n hav enough time u can try its rooftop restaurent.

Room Tip: there is not any room to stay if u want comfort n relaxation.

Everything about this place was great. The room was very comfortable, clean, nice bedding, etc. Towels provided and had air conditioning. As I booked late I didn't get a room with a nice view, it was just of the street, but the room had great natural light and a big comfy sitting couch as well as the four-poster bed. If you book in advance do get a room with a view, one of the best views in India! The rooftop restaurant has two levels, both with said view, the lower with many comfy couch-tables, beautiful paintwork and architecture. Top level is open-air and a good vibe. Good food too. Staff were friendly and helpful, and let me use a room to change my before my night bus. They do have cable TV, but all channels seem to be in languages other than English. The travel agent attached to the hotel was helpful too - I only was a bit frustrated that they explained to my rickshaw driver where to deposit me, but I was left at the wrong bus station. Was this punishment for negotiating for a better rickshaw place (before departure) or a simple mistake?

Room Tip: All rooms are nice, but try to book in advance to get a lake/palace view

Clean and romantic guesthouse.
The room 203 is wonderful with a view on 180°. Ask for it when reserve.
The situation is very good, quiet and on the lake.
But the restaurant is not so good has we imagine ...

It was a very pleasent stay and the first thing that surprised my daughter was the view of the lake once she entered the room. We had taken the afternoon train from Jaipur to Udaipur. It reached UDZ around 940 PM. The ground was wet because of the rain that evening and the temperature was around 30 Degress C. Room reservation had happened two weeks before and through eMail and Conversation with Mr. Hari and Kamal. We were 2 Aults and 2 Children, with the elder one 13 yrs we had to consider her adult too. We had asked for an extra bed. The bathroom was clean with running hotwater at 10 pm in the night. We had our dinner at the hotel restaurant in 3rd floor. Restaurant staffs were very helpful in getting the food ready and serving it inspite of the late hours. We had booked the taxi through Mr. Hari for the entire stay (pickup at rly stn, next day trip to NathDwara, local sightseeing and drop back at raly stn). We had only one day available with us to do Udaipur sightseeing. Driver Faris was very helpful, picking us up at the rly stn, taking us to Nathdwara next day early in the morning and with the local sightseeing and dropping us back at rly stn in the night for our train to Jaipur. Mr. Hari was very helpful throughout our stay and helped us with the itinerary for nathdwara. On the whole, it was an excellent trip and we would definitely recommend "Mewar Haveli" for staying in UDZ.

Room Tip: Do opt for lake facing room when you book this hotel.

Got this Hotel through Trip adviser, and found really worth pre booked this Hotel. Very nicely located, near to market place, temple and walkable distance from city palace fort and the lake .Enjoyable moments from roof top at night . Very nice view from the hotel top. Very nice decorative rooms with royal feelings .

Foods bit spicy but reasonable at roof top restaurant.

Room Tip: Room with lake view is better

Four of our family stayed in this hotel between 4th and 6th of October 2013. The rooms were tidy and bathrooms were very clean. A nice budget hotel and its main advantage is its location-very close to jagdish Mandir , pichola lake, boating facility and city palace the main tourist attraction. But being in old city, transport is a problem especially if you are self driving as the roads are very narrow with sudden inclines and turns. Mr harish is a great guy and he guides you well and makes your stay very comfortable. The service is very good and the food is also very good though costwise slightly on the higher side. Bathrooms need exhaust fans but for which it is a very nice place to stay. For families looking for value for money, a great place to stay.

Room Tip: If you are a family of four look for the delux room. It is good

I stayed for 2 nights at Mewar Haveli and I must say I came back pretty much satisfied. This budget friendly hotel is located at Lal ghat, a stone's throw away from Bagore ki Haveli, lake front, Jagdish temple and is surrounded by street shops and cafes - perfect for someone who wants to enjoy the old city charm of Udaipur's narrow streets. I would like to specially mention the hospitality and helpfulness shown by Harish at Mewar haveli right from beginning to the end. I was given a room with a twin bed so that was one minus point as far as the room was concerned. I had upgraded myself to a lake view room and I assume there was no other lake view room with a double bed. Room as such was decent considering the budget - small, basic but clean.

Room Tip: I had booked a superior room through cleartrip.com and then got it upgraded to a deluxe room when I...
