A friend and I stayed at The Tiger for five nights in November 2010. It had been recommended by other travelers.
The staff were always very courteous and helpful. Very clean, good value with a decent breakfast served on the roof-top restaurant with terrific views.

We moved here from another hotel, having eaten at the restaurant and cafe owned by the same people. Rooms are simple but well arranged, staff are efficient and helpful and the views from the restaurant and roof top are wonderful. It seemed to be mostly couples staying so we were given a break from the noise of extended families that had begun to drive us crazy elsewhere! A really well run, professional place - I wish there were more like it.

The staff were wonderful and friendly, helpful with giving us tips of where to go for sightseeing, buying things etc. the hotel is lovely and clean, our room was wonderful, pretty quiet, bathroom was clean and nice hot water in the shower! there is free wifi!! the rooftop restaurant is great - the food we had was delicious! just wish they had a bigger menu!! the view over the lake is beautiful! the location of the hotel is perfect - can walk to alot of places!! I highly reccomend the nightly traditional rajasthan dancing show nearby (at the museum just next door) at 7pm each night too!! Would definately stay here again and will happily reccomend it to friends!!

Recently while travelling in India we spent ten days in Udaipur. We stayed the first couple of nights at the Jaiwana Haveli but felt they were overpriced, unaccommodating and generally nickeled and dimed you for every service (e.g. all internet services, including wireless if you have your own computer, are an extra charge; the restaurant is expensive and unwilling to make any substitutions or changes to meals; and when we inquired in advance about taxi pick up from the airport they quoted us 500 Rupees to have them arrange for a taxi when you can get a pre paid cab at the airport for 400 Rupees that will take you anywhere in town).

After 3 nights and a little comparative shopping we moved to the Tiger Hotel (only a block away) and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for accommodation in Udaipur. The ‘Tiger’ is located very conveniently in the old town, right beside Lake Pichola, 5 minutes walk from the City Palace entrance and surrounded by restaurants and shopping.

The hotel offers free wireless internet and also has reasonably priced spa services including massage and a sauna/steam room. The rooms were clean and comfortable with cable TV. The price of rooms, although less than Jaiwana, was on par with comparable hotels in the area. The staff however, were the most pleasant, professional and accommodating of anyone we encountered. And because it was the beginning of the tourist season (November) and still quiet in the City we were also able to negotiate a slightly better deal with the manager, who offered to include breakfast at the Hotel’s rooftop restaurant in the room price. The restaurant is reasonably priced, with a great view of the Lake and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and although the menu is limited, the food was good and safe.

Overall we were very happy staying at The Tiger and i would recommend them to anyone looking for a central, well priced place to stay in Udaipur.

I had read the reviews of this hotel and was expecting a bit of the friendly treatment. However, I would say that my expectations were surpassed. The staff were genuinely helpful and concerned with your well-being.
The rooms were nice and the place was clean. The area is a bit run-down but this is what to expect in the middle of the old city of Udaipur.

After our visit to Delhi, Jaipur, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur, we visited Udaipur. This was my first time, no idea about the hotel and location. I booked this hotel through internet. When we arrived, it was in narrow alley and i was surprise when enter the door, how beautiful and clean the hotel. The staff management was also very helpful and fast service. The room is very clean, has wireless, and also has good spa. The view to the lake and taj hotel was excellent from the hotel roof top restaurant. The roof top restaurant was also very clean, provide great food also has window glass protected us from cold air from outside.

We stayed at this hotel in September 2010, the room was lovely and clean, and the staff were really helpful and friendly. It was also a great location in the centre nearby restaurants, shops and the palace jetty. Loved the rooftop bar, great views, and loved Udaipur!
