“Good for the price paid”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2013

the hotel is @ very good location & most of the sightseeing points are within walking distance.the hotel even provides a map to roam around the area.
although the building is very old & the rooms lacks basic amenities like tap in toilets & intercom to callup service / reception & housekeeping is little poor but these can be compensated with the price paid.
the roof top restaurant is very good & u get a very good view of the lake from there. all the staff are very polite & always ready to help.
while in udaipur stay away from autowallahs, they will never tell you the exact distance & charge you hefty amount even for a 1/2 km journey.
most of the places are near to hotel so u dont need a auto, even if u need one its always good to bargain.
ask local people about directions , distance etc. udaipur is a place to walk.
walk through the market . u'll enjoy it.

Me and my wife were travelling to Udaipur for the very first time . After long drive from Delhi to udaipur we searched many hotels . Either they were too expensive or not the right location for us.So we saw this hotel which was situated in the middle of Main Bazaar 100 steps away from Bagore ki Haveli where u can go and see the Amazing Folk dances of Rajasthan. The Rooms were clean n Spacious and also the Staff was good. Namaste cafe downstairs is awesome n so is the Roof top restaurant. Staff was friendly and if next time we go to Udaipur this will be our next stop.

This hotel was great...helpful staff, large rooms, clean, good value and has a great bakery and restaurant inside. HOWEVER when we left to catch a train to our next destination the guys in the art shop (two brothers who hang around the hotel and whose dad takes lots of the guests in his rickshaw) conned us into buying goods for really cheap, then said the shop was closing, rushed us out and dsappeared suddenly. Turned out one or then had stolen one of our phones. We were careful travellers and careful with our belongings and this would normally not happen. It was only because we noticed instantly and kicked up a huge fuss that we got the phone back. The guy was sweating and in a panic as we demanded we speak to the manager and even shoved a load of cash in our hands to try to get us to leave. Conveniently none of the managers were working at the time and the staff who were working suddenly didnt speak english. We caused such a scene that despite us checking the shop twice one of the brothers appeared with the phone having not even been back in the shop himself. Turns out from talking to other people that the brothers and dad are known for this stuff. Absolutelt disgusting which is a shame as this was otherwise a good stay.

As by our three nights stay we feels that it's good choice in udaipur but it can be better by pointing out some stuffs in hotels such as at reception most of the time there is no one to attend travelers, rooms and bathrooms must be clean after having two nights, windows becomes a bit noisy better to put some glass on that.
Owner and staff is helpful rooms are nice and well decorated location is good

I stayed here for 2 nights with family. The owner was very polite and co-operative. Entire staff was supportive. I was in room no. 301 on 2nd floor, very good room. There was no lift, but you can not ask even in this much budget. Owner told us that he is planning to add lift facility very soon. Roof Top restaurant is also very nice with lack facing view. It provides good food. Overall it was very satisfactory stay for me.

Room Tip: I can say for room no. 301 only as I stayed there. Its good.

Big eyes when I ask to change the bedsheets used by the previous occupant.

Don't trust u have fresh bedsheets.

Teenage creapy guys hover around the entrance.

This room has not seen a rug for at least one year.

Noicy from other guests, because all windows go into to a inside hall.

Only upside is the location, exactly next to the Bagore-ki-Haveli.
