Parambikulam is one of the best kept National Parks in South India. The highlight is the way the Forest Officials ensure that tourists adhere to park rules. Plastic/liquor etc are not allowed and you are frisked at the check post itself. The Park do not offer much facilities for tourists and maybe this can be one of the reasons that it has continued to be a virgin land. Wild animal spotting is very easy. You can very easily set your eyes on elephants, bisons, deer and a wide varity of monkeys. Leopard sighting is rare though. Access to food outlets are limited and its better to carry your own food. Accomodation is provided only in forest department owned rest/guest houses and most of them offer only basic facilities. But that should be the way to rough it out inside a forest.
