“One of the best National Parks in South”
Reviewed 23 April 2013

Parambikulam is one of the best kept National Parks in South India. The highlight is the way the Forest Officials ensure that tourists adhere to park rules. Plastic/liquor etc are not allowed and you are frisked at the check post itself. The Park do not offer much facilities for tourists and maybe this can be one of the reasons that it has continued to be a virgin land. Wild animal spotting is very easy. You can very easily set your eyes on elephants, bisons, deer and a wide varity of monkeys. Leopard sighting is rare though. Access to food outlets are limited and its better to carry your own food. Accomodation is provided only in forest department owned rest/guest houses and most of them offer only basic facilities. But that should be the way to rough it out inside a forest.

virgin green forest....the tent houses there were excellent and so was their food....really homely food....their forest trails are worth hitch hiking and if you are likely you may come across a leopard or a wild elephant like we did, pls go with a gun toting guard!

“TOP SLIP.. Awesome forest experience”
Reviewed 1 January 2013

Those who are forest lovers, continue reading and those who aren't continue reading as this may turn you back.

Topslip, a part of Westernghats, is located above 300 meters from the sea level on the Anamalai mountain ranges(Hills of elephants). It is an important tourist centre in Indra Gandhi National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary (sanctuary covers 958 sq.kms) in the Coimbatore District of Tamilnadu at the southern part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. BUT there is a pass (Palaghat pass) between Nilgiris and Anamalai ranges

There are not much staying options in TOP Slip. There are government guest houses where you can book the rooms,

The best Guest house is Amibuli, it is in middle of forest and about three kms inside the forest from the main building. the surroundings are dense and on way you can spot Deers, Bison, Elephants etc..

We happened to see those in the evening.

The guest house has four rooms and all four were booked by us. The care taker had arranged for dinner and next day breakfast.you need to carry your items them

Suggestion is not to have non vegeterian as it may attract wild animals.

Overall the two day forest stay is one which will remain in my memories...
