I was delightfully surprised when I reached the venue. Passing through the long winding and crater riddled roads, my mind had imagined a place straight out of Lost.
The restaurant was tastefully done, with an eye for detail.
We had pre ordered a plated buffet served at the table. Four starters, a soup, a pasta, a plated steak with veggies et al, a roasted chicken and dessert. Each dish was delicious. I would have stopped with the beef steak but the roasted chicken beckoned me to carry on eating.
The hosts were courteous and friendly.
The time to visit is at night. There is a breath taking view of the plains from the venue.
What needed improvement were; the toilets; and card payment facility.

The resort is marked wrongly in map, due to which we found it difficult to reach there. Mornings are beautiful there. Near a Tea Estate and walk-able distance from Lambs Rock.
Food was a little expensive as they charge on what you order. There are no food options available nearby as well.
Night it was spooky, as we spotted bison enroute.

Two wonderful days in the midst of nature... I went looking for the same and got more than what i expected... The ambiance of the resort was just amazing... Flowers, garden seating, sunrise, proximity to the tea estate... The service is a delight... Hot water, extra blanket, emergency light.. Away from the noise of the city, tucked into the lap of nature... could not have asked for more... Charles and Alex just spoil you... Phone signals are not easily available.. but someone looking for some peace and time to themselves will not complain... It was a lovely stay that i will remember for a long time...

Room Tip: All rooms are equally nice with amazing views

Stayed in De Rock, Coonoor for two days. Those who wants to spend time in a remote place can choose this resort. Walking inside tea estate, walking on the way to lams rock view are good one to remember. Excellent home made food and supporting staffs. Camp fire and buffet makes you to remember the trip.

Room Tip: Rain Forest View

After 2 days in Ooty we thought it would be a great idea to spend one day in Coonoor. Booked DeRock Jungle Living after having seen a couple of reviews on TripAdvisor. We arrived 1 hour after the check in time however the Owner made us wait for another 1 hour saying the guests haven't yet vacated the rooms. He literally started arguing, instead of being apologetic. The rooms were just OK, but the view from the balcony was great. The were stinking badly. Breakfast and meals were bad. The only highlight was the treck organized by the property owner.
