Its a beautiful temple dedicated to lord Perumal...its huge and there's plenty to see. Try to get a guide and he'll explain how this place came to be. As usual, toilets are a big problem in most South Indian places of attraction. I never visited one.

Do not miss the paintings and the altars in the 2nd and 3rd tiers of the temple. It costs Rs10 per person and well worth it. If you ever wanted to see those gorgeous temple tower-sculptures this is your chance. You can see them at 3 inches away or even closer if you wish. The entire temple is clean, well maintained and so spacious and peaceful.

Ancient Temple of lord Vishnu, one of the 108 divya desams. Has charathalvar and ambal sannithis. Not much crowd when compared to Meenakshi temple, so we can pray in peace and as long as we want. Good place to see

Unlike the much larger Minnakshi Temple, this one has more of the feel of a working temple. People worshipping, many smaller areas of incomparable beauty, much fewer people or waiting in ques. Highly recommended

This is the temple where periyazvar sang pallandu, for perumal.
A Divya desam that simply cannot be missed.

A visit to this temple is certain to make you at peace, especially if you get a chance to visit during the evenings.

What caught me by surprise was that, one can circle around the sanctum sanctorum, immediately around the karpagraham & moolavar - Unlike most other older divya desams.

Make sure to plan out a good one hour at the least, to experience the divinity and feast on the sculptures, beautiful paintings & architectural beauty.

There are three floors in this temple and the perumal is seen in different postures (sitting, standing & reclined). Ask for directions to the upper floors.

The thayar, chakkarathaazvar & andal sannidhis are not to be missed.

This temple is very near to the railway station - if you'd take an auto it would cost not more than 40 Rs.
