Spacious rooms , cottage style in a quite environment. Beware of mosquitoes. Always carry your own repellent. Never try food in house. Menu , very expensive and not worth. Breakfast buffet very average for a star hotel. Overall a average hotel.

Room Tip: Room with plunge pool. Ask them to clean it before enter.

Its nice, well furnished hotel with nice rooms, AC and furniture but it stops there, poor service, dirty and smelly restaurant and difficult to converse in english makes it hard to communicate. no one comes to clean room, take away dishes or replenish water, Towels are dirty even when cleaned. Will never visit again.

We booked this hotel for three nights December 26 to 29 2013 through Booking.com. After a six hour drive arrived here. First bad impression was the doorman wouldn't help with bags and reception staff ignored attempts to book in for 10 minutes while they talked on phones and to each other. When they eventually checked us in they showed us a standard room. We had booked a delux through booking.com and asked them to give us the room with balcony and river view we had booked . They said that was not possible. The manager pretended not to understand the booking.com form that they had been sent and spent ages reading it and scratching his head and tutting and so on. We sat through this pantomime and after a tedious wait he showed us three rooms, two with no windows at all before relenting and showing us the delux we had booked. He even said we were his guests in India and that he should be giving a good impression. Bit weird but anyway.....After accepting this room we found the toilet was broken and the room key card could not be made to work no matter how many times they tried. The pool area was filthy and littered and when we went to the restaurant it was also filthy but that didn't matter because they refused to serve any food. After realising we couldn't stay in the room we were given we called staff who let us into our room with a master key to get our luggage and then wandered off and left us in the corridor, thinking they were going to get us another room. After a long while we realised this wasn't going to happen so made our way to the lobby. Got stuck in the lift for a while. In the lobby, instead of sorting things out, the staff laughed at us and challenged us to find another hotel as Madurai was very busy as it was Boxing Day. They said if we couldn't find one they would not be able to offer us any kind of room. We did manage to find alternative one online and, three hours after we arrived we finally got our deposit back. As the doorman and reception staff still refused to help with a taxi we flagged an auto rickshaw and left. In 35 years of travel worldwide we have had some odd experiences with hotels but never one as consistently hostile and disgusting. This has been the only bad experience in an otherwise great 6 week trip to India and Madurai is a great city to visit but whatever you do, do not stay here.

We stayed in deluxe room. Though the room was very spacious and has a very good balcony. But service quality was not that good. First of all, they swipe more amount on my credit card when they asked for payment. Their restaurant is not that clean, one who was taking order was cleaning tables and placed uncleaned table mats. They made us wait for food very long and quality of food was horrible. At the time of checkout, they did not provide printed invoice bill. After asking for it, they provided hand written bill. Service quality very poor, I had to call 5-6 times to reception to send someone to take luggage. Even bath rooms were not that clean.
I did not find it was a 3-star hotel. I was very disappointed with hotel services.

We we revisiting Madurai to see the Meenakshi Temple and City Palace, both of which are well worth a trip down south. The hotel had been an old residential club and had been turned into a comfortable hotel. The food was good and our only real complaint was the repeated request for the room safe which was locked open when we arrived to be functioning which never happened. We had our own little pool in the room garden which only had one sun bed, but another soon arrived when requested. The communal pool was inviting to look at. The hotel was a little out of town, but not too inconvenient

Room Tip: We had one with a nice little pool

We spent two nights at the Heritage Residency. We had a very comfortable "Suite Room" and furnished with good taste. Very welcome to Reception. River View rooms are good to choose. Food taste is up to mark. Kitchen and service staff are very good and friendly and efficient staff. we had a party around pool which we enjoyed most. Very nice stay and value of money

Room Tip: Best Value Hotel in the city and friendly service
