Stayed here for two days.looks old from outside.but rooms seems to be renovated recently. U hav free wifi.it has a roof top restaurant but takes a hell lot of time to deliver the food once u order.the food is tasty. The rooms are not perfect clean.
Its worth checking out. But if find better at this price its good to leave this hotel

First they gave me room #505 it was too dusty. Next they gave me room #502 here also the same case don't know they had cleaned it, it was smelling like anything. They served hot water in The evening for bath in a broken bucket. We have to call and ask for everything like soap, shaving kit, dental kit etc. And finally they called it is a royal room :-D

Why travel portals selling this hotel in their bouquet? So called Esteem Room, specially 508 is terrible. Staff is having attitude problem. They think if you are giving your feedback to improve their services, It is a non-sense. They are contend in their own pond, thanks to temple town, might be they are getting steady flow. But nobody would visit their hotel after once.
Stay at your own risk, this feedback is after staying in many hotels across Karnataka / Tamilnadu.

Room Tip: Don't take 508

We have been traveling in India staying in hotels or homestays in the 1500 to 3000 rupee range. Paid 2300 here.

Pros: 10 minute walk to temple and great views from rooftop restaurant

Con's:
1. Filthy sheets
2. No toilet paper in bathroom
3. No hot water
4. Restaurant food is bland

We didn't stay here, but came for a rooftop lunch and a good view of the temple. The view was great, the beer was cold (but overpriced) but the food, I'm sorry to say, was not worth eating. I had to ask for chilli powder to make my soup taste of anything and my husband's spring rolls were bland in the extreme. Even though we had said that we liked spicy food. I can't say about the rooms as we weren't staying, but I could only recommend this place for the view and the beer.

I stayed with my mother on 2nd Feb for a day to visit Meenakshi temple... The room is ok and had a view of the temple...The view really doesnt matter as its far from the temple...Room size is pretty good and the washroom is clean.. though I must say the hot water is not really hot, its just warm... The hotel has breakfast complimentry and is really good... Loved the breakfast...

The AC didnt quite work very well...I did call up the receptionist but I didnt feel it made any differnce...

Its abt 1 km from the temple so you can walk rather than catch an auto.. The roads are through the bazaar so you dont really get bored....

Hotel is OK for a night stay but I felt it is slightly overpriced...

Sadly this hotel seems to be living off its former glories. We stumbled in having read an brief exert in a 2007 Lonely Planet and it feels like nothing has updated since then. If sheets could talk I'm sure Chentoor's would have some interesting stories judging by the number of stains on them. The rooftop terrace looks nice if you squint and the lobby is deceptively shiny given the faded condition of the rooms.

We paid 1800 Rs for a double room and it was fine, but for 1800 Rs you feel like you should be getting slightly more. There is Wi-Fi in the rooms however. We stayed one night then walked round the corner where there are plenty more hotels with similar rooms for half the price.

The complementary breakfast was uninspiring. You can choose between a grim North Indian breakfast or a continental option, which was two industrial slabs of generic white bread served with a smear of butter and luminous jam. I would prefer to pay for a breakfast than eat that again, even if it is complementary.
