My wife and I visited the temple on our way to Glenmorgan when in Ooty recently. We did it a bit differently from what I guess most visitors would. We parked our car at the T junction of the road from Ooty to Mysore from where one turns towards Glenmorgan. From there we walked along the road for 7 kms before walking cross country to the Toda tribal hamlet. We had a guide from the resort with us who knew the way. We also visited a carrot farm nearby where the enthusiastic farmer showed my wife how to plant and grow carrots and also gave her some seeds and fertilizer to try out when we got back home !
The Toda village has a model house + seperate temples for men, women and children. There are also some boulders used for the tribals to show their strength before they are married !
The walk & the trip to the carrot farm made it a worthwhile way to spend the morning. Otherwise, if one drove to the village and back it would be a very short trip. There are no tribals in traditional costumes at the village. We saw some young boys playing cricket there dressed in T Shirts and shorts like one would see anywhere else in the country.
