The place is very good and well maintained. They have a very nice garden and old style rooms.

Food what we ordered was not that good and it was expensive.
Even after charging so much for the room they were charging extra for the Room Heater. There was an option of fire place in room but that is also charged. Even after paying for it the fire didnt last more than an hour and it was total waste of money.

Hotel is located on top of hill :) If you are not using own vehicle it is very difficult to get a private vehicle..

Overall I feel they can either decrease the price or add some more facilities for the price they are charging.

The resort is good, lush green lawns and beautiful flowers. It is located on top of a hill and is 1 km up a steep slope from the main bus stand. Restaurant serves good vegetarian food (Can't comment on Non Veg). The service needs to be improved further.
They provide heaters or fireplace options at additional costs. At least one of the two options should be complimentary.

Overall a fine stay with a big problem - the chimney of our room was clogged and the room got filled with smoke..this was a terrible experience and the manager on duty, instead of changing the room at once, insisted on letting the smoke out of the window. It was only after 30 minutes of argument that our room was changed.

Room Tip: Do not choose Rustic cottage unless you have a budget constraint. Vintage Cottage "The Dutchess...

We were planning for an ooty trip for quite sometime and i had literally scanned all the travel websites to conclude where exactly we will be headed to once we land in ooty.... After much scrutinization i finally pick this lovely Hotel - kluney Manor ofcourse going by the wonderful reviews in various sites.... I had made the booking just few hours before we reached ooty and since this being an off season i easily got a victorian cottage booked. The hotel is situated around one km from the railway station but since it is over the top of the hill, autowala charged us 100 rs but i guess 60 to 80 is the decent fare. Bargaining could have helped. We were readily taken to the victorian cottage but since some shooting was going on just outside our room we had requested for an alternate cottage and the staffs showed us various other cottages until we loved one. Food from the restaurant too was good and at reasonable price. Must mention their service is prompt.

This hotel is by itself a tourist spot. It has such beautifullllllllllll gardens that you will feel like roaming this place with your loved one hand in hand all day. Such lovely flowers and lawns. U will feel you are in some yash chopra's movie location.

Rooms, bathrooms and everything around you is so clean and well maintained. Staffs and managers are so courteous. They are at our service all time.

I can bet there is no other hotel in ooty that can give you such wonderful experience for such an affordable price.

The Only con that i could pull out is the heater that doesn't help much in bringing a warm temperature to the room. Well We cant blame them completely as well because the climate is crazy cold out there but since their flooring doesn't have carpets or a good wooden flooring its impossible to walk bare foot. Even the blankets couldn't help us though. Finally we had called up the housekeeping to make the fire place work and they were in the room next minute fixing up the fire place which was such a relieffffffffff :) we could sleep peacefully only after the heat settled down slowly in our room from the furnace.

Totally a wonderful experience :) I would love to go back again if i even be to ooty :)

Room Tip: Victorian cottages are the best. They give you a rich and heritage experience you would fall in love...

Stayed in Kluney Manor in September 2013. Booked here after going through the excellent reviews in various travel sites including trip advisor. I used goibibo and got Rs. 300 off. Now coming to the experience - I called up the hotel 3 days before my stay and asked them to allocate me a room with a view. I told them I do not want rooms which face the fern fence. Then landed in ooty 3 days later. Check in was quick and the place looked fabulous from the outside. Very close to the center of ooty town. But I was disappointed as I was given the exact same room I did not want - the one facing the fern fence. I called up reception - but nothing happened.
Then headed to the restaurant as the menu book in the room seemed really good. Was in for a surprise again as I was told tandoori items are available only for dinner. So ordered Chettinad chicken curry and garlic chicken starter with phulkas. Specifically mentioned - to make everythiing spicy. Chettinad chicken that was served had nothing to do with chettinad or anything south indian. It had a distinctive sweet taste and same went for chicken starter. Later found out the chef is from Orissa and there it was - I decided to try elsewhere for dinner and every other meal. I would suggest everyone to skip the restaurant.

Then headed back to room. We did not have time to really check out the room till now as we headed straight to restaurant on check in. The room is spacious has a sit out, huge bed room with dresser and bathroom. But beware the room has no carpeting or wooden flooring and winters will be terribly cold.
The lawns outside the main building are excellent and the same goes for the small lawns in front of the rooms. Room service is quick and courteous.
At night it got terribly cold and the comfortors, blankets provided did not help. I woolen blanket must have been laid out on the beds. But I called up reception and was provided with one within a couple of minutes. But my thought is - it should have been standard.

Overall: Good place to stay. Good room service. Courteus staff. Bad restaurant. Minor issues - but can be solved quickly.

Room Tip: Do not book if rooms offered are not lake facing.
