Agra doesn't seem to cater for many international tourists venturing far beyond their respective hotels, however, we were advised about this restaurant and opted for a meal there.... only a short drive within Agra, it is not a flash establishment, however, for me, that often means, food is great! We were not dissappointed.
Obviously Indian, individual dishes were appreciated by others, however, 2 of us elected to try the "tasting" plate ..... starting with entrees, through to dessert. Wine expensive as can only be purchased by the bottle, so we opted for Indian beer. The "tasting plate" meal (which was the most expensive on the menu) with beer, cost around AUD12.
I was in shock .... cheapest meal and one of the best.... that I have had in India, so far ...
It is frequented by international tourists, so obviously, many know of it's existance .... give it a try! A great night away from the swanky, expensive hotel type resorts in Agra

We had dinner at this place on our first night in Agra and were really disappointed. I must say the worst experience of all our trip. The waiter spoke very little English and couldn't answer the simplest question. After letting us study the menu for a while he started serving us food and so we discovered that our agency had ordered a set menu for us (we complained with the agency the day after). A few words of explanation BEFORE serving the food would have probably saved our dinner, or perhaps not, since all the food we were served was bland to say the least.
There were only tourists and definitely this is not the place to experience Indian cousine it is rather an insult to it as well as to the legendary Indian ospitality.

The restaurant was recommended to us by a Tuk Tuk driver and we were a bit sceptical. The interior is not exactly pretty but we soon had some cold beer on the table.

Vegetarian dishes are about 150-215 Rs, on the non-veg menu chicken is 200-400 Rs, and mutton about 250-300 Rs. Naan comes at 45 Rs (plain) or 78 Rs (with garlic). Tandoori chicken is served at 275 Rs (half) or 450 Rs (full).

Food seemed fresh and clean so it is not a bad deal.

This is very near the Taj and therefore convienant. Also the reason it is full of tour groups esp westerners. We ordered Indian, Chicken Kali Mirch and chicken Afghani. The waiter asked us whether we would like it spicy and we said yes.The Chicken Kali mrch was neither spicy nor tasting of black pepper. The chicken afghani is usually grilled cubes of chicken in a mild marinate but here it came as dry sheeks which were utterly bland.
They do not accept credit cards.
