“Experience Mughal Era...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2013

It made our trip memorable as i dreamt. it is a very spreadout property with well mentain services.
A very good product for Grand Wedding as they have fountains, big lawns, big business centre, big guest rooms.

Dec 2012 great retreat after the long drive from rishikesh . Clean, great bed, pretty furniture and overall great service.
Gorgeous landscaping and manicured gardens, I wish the government would keep the national monuments (taj mahal)as clean and green as this hotel is kept. Good breakfast .

Wow. This hotel was seriously luxurious. From the heavenly pillows, to the cold marble floors, the rooms were like living as royalty. The lobby was absolutely grand, the outdoor courtyard where we walked to get to our rooms was awesome. Huge fountains danced and changed lights in front of our eyes. My only complaint was I was excited for a hot tub, but they did not have one. We instead did a steam room. The breakfast was awesome the following morning. I wish we had spent more time at the hotel!

This vast, palatial and modern hotel is built in the style of many of the region's famous palaces, probably to convey to guests their status as the present day aristrocracy. It is quite faithful to the originals architecturally, as far as we could ascertain, but we found it too overwhelmingly sumptuous, with prices to match. Business travellers seldom use all the amenities offered in such places and tourists are out and about most of the time. Our room was luxurious on a gaspworthy scale, but as often happens in air conditioned hotel rooms, our sleep wasn't peaceful. Granted, we were there on New Year's Eve when a gigantic 'gala dinner' was held on the lawns in the grounds. It was vulgar and garish with lowest-common-denominator music blasting conversations away;, mediocre, high school level dance acts and desperate looking waiters running or standing (even worse) around in the deep chill of the winter's night. Booking for this event was mandatory if one needed accommodation at the hotel for that night. The only good thing about it was the food, first as served snacks and then as a buffet - splendidly abundant and absolutely delicious. There are several restaurants on site, but the most used one is excellent - if expensive. The check in procedure was poor, the internet poor, the luggage slow to reach our room and an expectation of 5 star tips every time one turned a corner very obvious. We would rather opt for a cheaper, more personal place next time.

Dear Guest,

Greetings from Wyndham Grand, Agra!

We thank you for your review and feedback regarding your stay New Year’s Eve. We are disappointed that the show and performances did not meet your cheer. However, the show was put forward by an experienced Event Management Company and all the performers were talented and experienced. We receive many compliments regarding New Year’s Eve from the guests who stayed with us that night but we are sorry that our efforts were in vain as far as your taste concern.

We apologize for any inconvenience you have and I have written a mail separately seeking some clarifications, for which we would appreciate a response at the soonest convenient.

Thank you and best wishes,

This hotel has been de decorated to emulate the taj Mahal. Amazing architecture, landscapes Gardens, luxurious and spacious rooms plus a calm and luxurious pace ambience.
Our room was lovely, placed in a block of 4 rooms which were set in a courtyard with Ornamental gardens just of remain Gardens behind the hotel building. It was crisp and cold but sunny and so we did not use thepool, however thepool was set up to use and looked very inviting.
Food was great, a good selection at breakfast and at the cafe the salmon and The chicken were of 5* restaurant meal Standards.
The bar had a great tropical fish tank and the cocktails served were highly priced but strong.
The service was great, attentive but not overpowering.
The hotel itself is about 10 minute drive from the taj Mahal. It is situated at the quiet end of the busy hotel and restaurant strip in Agra.
Would recommend, as the price was excellent, compared to the other well known 5* hotels in the area. None of the other hotels look as stunning and give you a sneak peak of the glory of the taj Mahal before you see it.
Wonderful, shall return just to stay at this hotel.

We stayed in Nov 2012 for one night. I found the hotel to be quite good. The styling and layout of the hotel is like a open palace with garden in the center. The rooms are okay but the bathrooms are a disappointment. Food is very ordinary and nothing great. Staff is good but need to be more well groomed and trained. They have a fantastic play ground for kids and some sports like tennis, Basketball. the swimming is one of the BEST I have seen in any Hotel..it has sunken Bar and huge pool.

We visited the W. Grand Sep 2012. The hotel was nice depicted the Mughal Style of living. Quite different compared to other hotels. The hotel is good except the bathrooms are too small for a five star hotel. Staff are good and friendly. Breakfast was good although not much variety.
