“Meditate here !!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2014

A shame the Lion capital is not in situ, but it can be seen in the nearby museum along with lots of Chunar sandstone sculptures in a great state of preservation after almost 1,000 years.

“Nice place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2013

Good to get an idea about the time period of King Asoka. But better to read a book or get the help of a tour guide to get a proper description about the historical value.

“Not great”

If you travel to visit this you will be disappointed as there is just a few large fragments behind an iron raining, but a trip to the museam to see the capita is well worth the time

“Smashed and Incomplete”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 September 2012 via mobile

The pillar is smashed in to several pieces.  They are housed behind metal railings, with a small explanatory plaque.  The most interesting thing about the pillar is the lion capital, but it's been removed to the museum, so it can't be seen in context.
