I am writing this review a bit late as I visited this between 12-14 June’18. We booked Sundays Forever - King's Cottage for 2 couples including 2 kids. We arrived late Tuesday afternoon and was impressed upon our arrival at this out of the way treasure ! This is situated just on the Mussorrie - Suwakholi – Dhanaulti road, over a hill. Friendly staff to greet us and talk us through the hotel details. Whole cottage was a very pleasant surprise, a light and airy large living room. Spent 2 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was decorated with antiquities, completely updated and extremely comfortable.
Clean kitchen with a fridge to keep drinks and other items. The caretaker is very humble and nice guy. Cooks good food. They have a menu to choose your lunch/dinner. Complimentary Breakfast choice was excellent and our choice of cooked breakfast was delicious. Fresh milk and curd was available. It’s a 6 seater dining table. Dinner/lunch menu options are bit overpriced. May be they are charging more due to unavailability of any other food outlet nearby. And Of course TV connection is there but it didn’t work for first day. No Internet connection to call, Instagram, facebook or whatsapp. .
There are 2 large bed rooms in the cottage. Beds were large and comfortable, white towels in the bathroom were also a plus. Almirahs are bit small to even keep duffle. Great amenities including Sky TV, recliners, bathroom with shower and some cosmetics. They have a sofa-cum-bed as well to accommodate more people.
Very quiet location and somewhat picturesque. Ideal for a 4-6 members. Not so kids friendly as there are no fences across the area but all depends how one manage your lad.
Highly recommended for a peaceful holiday or a weekend getaway.
Location ; 5 star
Cottage : 5 star
Staff : 5 star
This cottage doesn't have a proper mobile connection , but you will find a connection with yourself. It is on main Mussoorie to Dhanaulti road and at a prime location from where you will see entire Dehradun at Night if the sky is clear.
Its a kind of place where you can spend an entire day just sitting outside the cottage and never get bored .
We spent three days and it was raining all three days , especially our kids loved that part as they were free to play outside the cottage during that.
Staff at the cottage is amazing , Pulam , the main care taker would say never say to No to anything. Mukesh is an excellent cook and prakash used to make excellent tea ( we had plenty )
The only problem is food , they have a nice cook who makes nice food but the price is bit high compared to normal restaurant and the cottage doesnt have any near by Restaurant or Dhaba . Nearest one is around 5 kms .
This has to be one of the most peaceful, picturesque and happy places that I have stayed in, I must compliment the entire staff Pulam, Prakash and Mukesh who took great care of us and the food was absolutely amazing. And the best part was the company of two wonderful dogs - Rocky and Riko.
The views of the valley are breathtaking, If you really want to experience hills in all its beauty, be here and experience this gem.
Absolutely loved it!
The homestay is perfect for the people who needs peace and would like to stay far away from the city. Though the villa is 12-14 KM away from Mussoorie, but once you reach there, you do not want to come out. The owner and care taker has maintained is so well as if it is for their own stay. Each and every thing in the villa is hand picked and placed so perfectly.
We were two families with 4 adults and 2 kids. Initially we thought that kids will not love it and may get bore; however once they enter they fell in love with the property and their two pet dogs and 1 goat. We were dead tired and we ordered for coffee and some snacks. The cook (sorry, I forgot the name) served with hot coffee and some sandwiches. It taste so good and energetic. There was 1 cook and 1 care taker (trust worthy, clean and very humble) who would be available 24/7 at your service. You order anything, he will bring it for you hot and fresh. Our kids loved the egg sandwiches, paranthas and not what.
They have kept a small USB player and you can also play songs from your cell phone via Bluetooth as well. It made our stay more fun and comfortable.
The owner Priyanka is so nice and would ensure that you get the 5 star treatment. We had bit of miscommunication, but later we worked it out. I would like to thanks her for the support and being available whenever we need for any clarification.
Unfortunately I have lost my phone with all snaps or else I would have posted with my review.
I would highly recommend this place and personally, I will select only this place for my upcoming visit in Mussoorie.
