“Not for the faint hearted...”
Reviewed 1 February 2014

This place is quite full on.... Firstly they have different prices for locals and foreigners so I suggest you really try and barter them down a little..A lot of the stores have the same fabrics and its a matter of finding the best price.. I cant tell you how many times I have bought some fabric thinking I'd stumbled across something new only to find it cheaper several shops down.. It can get very overwhelming as there are so many shops all looking the same. I have only now become familiar with the area and found my favourites to deal with.. Good luck!!

“Disgusting behaviour. Professional hawkers.”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

The dishonesty of prices are outrageous. As someone said, "they hunt like a pack of dogs". I was circled by 6 women telling me this was high quality fabric and hence purchased it. They were relentless and more women appeared to support them. I found out it was cheap poor quality fabric... BUT too late as Id already bought it. Unfortunately westerners are real targets. Be VERY cautious.

You can find whatever fabric you want at a very reasonable price, right in the heart of Denpasar across from the big market Pasar Badung..

“Place to find fabrics in Bali”
Reviewed 4 October 2013

If you want to buy fabrics, Jl Sulawesi is the place .
Learn to speak bahasa a lil bit, cuz not every seller there could speak English and also to avoid them to give tourist higher price than normal .
The shops open from around 9am until 4.30pm .
Just like another traditional old market, Jl Sulawesi is not clean .
Hand yourself a sanitizer and bring water.
