The best part of it was the safari journey itself when you can see a lot of animals coming near the bus and walking around the area to watch some of the animals. The animal shows were not that interesting and there is nothing to see in the marine park except for the piranhas. The water park there is very small. It could have been good for small kids, but it felt very unclean, so would not recommend going there at all. Overall, a nice place to go with small kids.

The good thing is if you book 2 days in advance, you get a free pick up service to and from the park from the place you stay.

My daughter and I went to the Bali Safari and Marine Park two weeks ago.

We booked the Leopard Tour Package which included transport to and from Kuta Square. Entry, photos with the animals, elephant ride, buffet lunch and the standard access to amusements rides, water park and the shows. This package ordinarily costs $99 US a person but I managed to negotiate a cheaper price at a local tourism desk ($89 Aus). We did see quite a lot of private mini buses and hired taxis parked at the venue, and I believe you can make your visit cheaper other than taking a package through tourism operators.

The mini bus picked us up from Kuta Square at 9.15am and took about 45+ minutes to get there. The down side with the transport is the limited return times – 3.00pm or 5.30pm, nothing in between. The package photos included one professional photo with any animal of choice plus 3 free photos taken by staff using your own camera. Between the two of us, our professional photos included the young orangutan and the elephant ride. The other photos (freebies) included the lion and tiger cubs. We felt sorry for the cubs as they were obviously hot and bothered, and only wanted to sleep in the heat.

As our time was limited we only managed to have a quick look at the water park and amusement park. They do however look inviting and entertaining We also missed out on the traditional Balinese dancing show and the driving safari. You could easily spend the whole day at the park.

We had an enjoyable time and perhaps next time we visit Bali we would again visit the park but organise our own transportation and entry.

Cheers,

Paul

We had heard a little bit about Bali Safari and have two young children, so we decided to take a day trip there. When we left Bali Safari we declared that it was both a waste of time and money. The level of service and hospitality that you receive at Bali Safari, compared to the the rest of Bali, is less than ordinary.
Even though Bali Safari opened in 2007 it feels tired and run down. You do get to see all of the animals but the enclosures aren't that nice. The shows are delivered with enthusiasm but are not too educational. As you'd expect with a major tourist attraction there are a number of lines to wait for.
A positive would be the lunch. The meals were nice and the setting was good, as you overlooked the lions enclosure.
If we thought the Safari park was uninspiring the Marine park was down right laughable. We understand that there was some maintenance being carried out, but what was available was shoddy at best.
As far as tourist attractions go, in Bali, Bali Safari is very over priced. I would suggest that you spend your time and money elsewhere.

This is my second time, I was disappointed this time, I paid for the meal, when we went to the restaurant it was a buffet style, not western. We went into the restaurant proper and had to pay agian. Just we careful when purchasing your ticket - if you want a variety DO NOT purchase the ticket with lunch. For what we paid I thought it was poor value. Definety will not be going again.

I come here each time and I'm happy to say it improve each and every occasion...except for the theme park which isn't great. The park also must have a good breeding program as there are always new babies in the park. The safari is good and the food and beverages are cheap to. Leave the water park till last as its very welcome to cool down from the Bali heat.
