“May skip if not much time”
Reviewed 11 February 2013 via mobile

Hmm..i would say you may skip this one if it's a short trip. But you may come to experience the 'market'. Souvenirs and stuffs may not be cheapest, but if you know how to bargain, it is cheap indeed. For tourist who stay longer in Ubud, this is one of places they buy ingredients for cooking class. So it would be fun for them especially to see the uncommon Asian/Balinese cooking ingredients. Overall, it is okay. It has it's own functions but may not serve all people's expectation, so no need to condemn if it does not meet yours..;-)

“Not worth your visit”
Reviewed 25 January 2013

Well, firstly, its the main pasar around the area. Being a pasar (wet market), shouldnt the items be cheaper?

Basically, the basement level is a wet market where you can buy all your ingredients for cooking & such. 1st level onwards is more to souveniers & such. We proceed to level 2 as there is less crowd & it seems free of harassment from these retailers.

However, we are shocked to find that the price is basically the same as what we could get in our country. Say, a normal 3/4 slack pants for guys is at sgd $12. Which is not worth it. Even so, our advise is bargain with them till you get 50% for the orginal price. Walk off if you can & they will call you back cos there is many shops selling the same thing.

“Go holiday and shopping”
Reviewed 2 January 2013

Try not to forget Pasar Ubud when you go to Bali, as this is a place where you can get a range of souvenirs, fabrics or even foods. Bargaining is a must here. I found it out to be a good experience for being able to stop here.

“typical”
Reviewed 2 August 2012

typical bali market - food, clothes, trinkets. A lot of fun, need to hold your nose in places but it's all part of the experience. You can still get genuine bargains here.

“Not very interesting and crowded”
Reviewed 19 February 2012

We visited the market before. Our impression now was that is was very crowded and the people were more demanding and pushy than some years ago. The market is one big tourist place, to us nothing local. We visited the Pasar Badung in Denpasar which was very nice and all local people and stuff, we enjoyed it.
Ubud is very touristic but has still a nice atmosphere. It is a perfect place to rent a driver (a reliable and carefull one, the trafic is crazy!) and make some trips. The nature around Ubud is stunning!! We had a great driver who showed us the more 'behind' places in Bali away form all the tourist crap as you can see in the pictures!
