Thankyou to Wayan Oke for leading this bike tour from Kintimani to Ubud. His excellent communication and enthusiasm for his work made the journey a really pleasant experience. At the top of the mountain the air is really cool and after the journey you only feel the heat on the outskirts of Ubud. The total journey is 37 km and the after ride food was very very good and the visit to the Traditional Balinese village was most interesting. Our driver Ketut drove the "sag wagon" and was there to pick up tired riders and to protect us from the small amount of traffic. This ride is well suited to the infrequent rider and anyone of non-athletic ability is able to do the ride. There are some short but steep hills but mostly it was pleasant downhill. Both Ketut & Oke should be looked after well by their company and we all tipped them afterwards. My only complaint was the average condition of the bikes but this did not matter as we were followed by spare bicycles in a car. As an experienced long distance cyclist I suggest you screw up your brakes before the downhill and ensure your seat height is correct (this saves leg energy). I really enjoyed this ride and recommend it to any one.

I went on the cycle trip on May 6, what a day i had. We had 6 people in our group and once everyone was picked up and we on out way to Kintamani our car was full of laughter all the way.I was Poppa of the group a young 60..... the rest kids lol. After breakfast at the top we set off, through villages and communities stopping at traditional village.an easy down hill ride , hardly had to pedal and the two short steep bits i pushed the bike up only a few hundred mtrs in total.
The rice fields we,re great cept Poppa fell off bike into rice paddy ( not everyone does that hehe).
Just a little scratch on my forehead and leg which Love our leader tended to with ointments and plasters. He was awsum. onwards to the bottom and we had a fantastic lunch, and afterwards we were dropped back at our hotels.
All in all it was a great day with a great group of mixed nationalities and they all looked after Poppa. If any of them read this a big thankyou.
i recommended this trip tow a couple at the hotel and they loved it. I cant recommend it enough, anyone reading this please do the ride it was the highlight of my holiday.
A big thankyou to Bintang tours and love.

I absolutely enjoyed this activity 100%. The day starts with a stop over at family run coffee plantation where they offer complimentary teas, coffee and chocolate that they themselves make. There is an option to buy Luwak coffee for 50,00 Idr but it is not pushed if you don't want to. They also have a little shop where you can buy some teas, coffees etc. Then you jump back in the car and go about 20mins more uphill to stop for a photo opportunity of the volcano. A little drive later you arrive to have tea/coffee and banana fritters for lunch which is included in the price. Then off for the bike ride, the guides assist you in picking a bike and help with adjusting the seat if needed, they also give you a bottle of water. A van follows your group as you cycle with more water an also will take your bike a let you jump in as there is a couple of large hills to cycle up towards the end. The down hill cycle was exhilarating as at some points you can pick up good speed but it is also peaceful through the villages and enjoying the scenery. The guide stops at various places for photos and also to give information on their rice paddy fields. It was wonderful seeing people go about their everyday work and life and the children all wave and say hello. At the end you finish with a three course lunch, tea/coffee and water, included in the price. I could not recommend this activity enough!

Saw this in a HK article recommending it if you wished to cycle through villages and rice fields. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Our tour guide was informative and kind with an incredible smile ( Poni was his name) . We had a 10 and 8 yr old with us and he took great care of them and the pace we all went. There was a safety car behind us at all times , with water, tools etc and at one stage kids and I went in the safety car just for a break when it was the one and only large hill!
We entered a family home and were shown around. The views were spectacular. The surprise at the end was a great finish spot with cold beers and a great feed! The best value for money -EVER

Day involved a stop for coffee/tea tasting, bike riding for ~3 hours and lunch afterwards. During the bike ride we saw traditional villages, rice fields and communities. However, I'm not sure if it was our particular guide, but I found it a big workout! I'm a young person with moderate fitness, but I found after the first two hours of riding in the heat I was completely exhausted. Luckily there was an option to be picked up by the van following behind all the bike groups. My partner was the only one left riding for the last 45 mins of the bike tour, but he had an absolutely fantastic time riding through the rice fields and doing some off-road riding. I would recommend this activity but make sure you're ready for some exercise and wear runners, shorts and lots of sunscreen for sure! Also it appeared to be a half day activity in the brochure but is actually more like a whole day activity.
