“Terrible service rude staff”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Everyone has raved on about rock bar for years. So being on my fifth trip to bali I thought I'd check it out. Was stopped in the car on the way in and told my partners singlet was not allowed. So we went to the gift shop purchased a $30 t shirt and continued down to the lift. Upon arrival at the lift there was a bus load of Chinese being abruptly loud. ( not the ambient vibe I was expecting) the staff told us we could walk down instead of waiting 30 mins for the lift. So we walked down, hot sweating. My partner forced into wearing his new $30 black t shirt was dripping in sweat when we arrived at rock bar the staff looked us up and down and were incredibly rude, there is NO shade despite them handing out awkward umbrellas to hold? You cannot use the pool and it is extremely pretentious. Safe to say we walked straight back out and did not even order a drink.

“Staff were terrible, seems over rated”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

We rocked up to Rock Bar after a wonderful day out at Penang Penang Beach. I was wearing a playsuit I had just bought and my Husband was in his footy short and bintang singlet like any Aussie bloke would be on a day out. The lady approached us in line and said that bintang singlets were not allowed, we thought that was semi acceptable so went and bought a $15 Bali shirt from the local store. However when we returned to the line the man stopped us to say you also were not allowed to weat footy shorts, why we were not told this earlier beats me as we would have saved our money and not bothered, Now we had a useless shirt and still no way of getting in. So we settled at the nearby restaurant and watched all the people go in and out. The wait seemed a bit ridiculous for the 30 mins or so spent down there and the priority queue gets to go ahead of every other joe blow. The food at the place near by was tasteless and left us feeling ill the next day. Would not recommend this resort to anyone it is over priced and over rated and the service from the staff was terrible.

“Amazing night would go everytime I'm in Bali!”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

What an amazing way to spend out last night in Bali. It was so relaxing and enjoyable to watch the sunset and just chill on the big comfy chair.

We went on a weekday (Wednesday) and I would highly suggest that considering the reviews about the line. The place did get full eventually, but we were there are 4 and there was basically no line. It filled almost up by sunset, but it looked like everyone was getting a seat.

I did not think the menu was very expensive. For the big chair theres a 700k minimum, but we literally ate almost everything on the menu. We don't drink, so we had a lot of the appetizers/finger foods and virgin drinks. They were delicious. Bill came to about 800 (80USD) and we felt it was absolutely worth it. Anywhere in the western world the bill would have been at least 300 dollars for the ambiance and view.

The sunset was amazing and the staff were very attentive. It was the highlight of our trip to Bali and would definitely be back!

“The Must-Go place in Bali”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

It was the first time I visited this place, and the elevators taking us down to the cliff from the hotel was a little intimidating. Our fears dissipated once we reached the ground - breathtaking sea views and enchantingly-lit bars lining the place.

there were bars by the sea and there were pools, but Rock Bar is the place to be at.

What could be better than having drinks deep down by the crashing waves, listening to good music spun by an isolated DJ seconded on the mountain itself ? Drinks were reasonably priced and the seats were comfortable. Service is good, and food was tasty too. Everyone was friendly - this is a fun, lively place to be at till late hours of the night.

Most amazing setting and location. From the moment you enter the Resort you know its nothing like anything. Unbeatable location, Best Sunset in Bali and the food and Cocktails are too die for. A must visit if in Bali. A little steep though but worth it.
