“Great place !”
Reviewed 8 August 2013

At the end of our stay in Bali we wanted a Hotel near the airport, From the first information mail the response was very friendly.
We booked a family room, and we were really surprised by the nice atmosphere of this hotel and the very nice decorated rooms and outdoor spaces.
We just stayed for one night but this hotel is worth a longer stay, just 15 minutes walk from the beach side and the tourist restaurants.
We had dinner and lunch at the villa Balquisse restaurant, service and quality were good

Overall, it's dirty, run down, poor service, poor breakfast, poor value for money, poor everything. Massively over-rated with pictures not reflecting reality.

This place was very disappointing and I can't understand how it has received such good reviews considering our experience and the experience of the other couples we spoke with..
The pictures of the rooms are very misleading! Our first impression was bad so we asked for another but told it was the only available room. On further inspection, the first was very dirty -stains on the sofa, previous guest's rubbish in the bathroom bin (used tissues etc. disgusting!) and a posse of lizards living in there. Overall a dirty, run down feeling to it.
We then told the hotel security we were going to leave as the room was that bad and they decided they did have another room after all. So we took it, but it was not looked after properly either and just wasn't a good level of cleanliness. The next day we checked out straight after breakfast - which was also very poor.
The other couple we spoke to also complained about their room and wanted to change - at breakfast they asked us what our original room was like as they had been offered it! We advised them to check out but they had paid for a longer stay!

Getting to the beach when the shuttle service isn't on offer - i.e. at night for dinner - involves sneaking through the opposite hotel (ok it worked but not very nice to have to do that when on holiday!).

Anyway, not impressed - avoid!

Owned by the same person who owns Villa Balquisse in Jimbaran, we found the private and secluded Villa Barissan - hidden down lanes in the heart of Seminyak - the perfect tonic for a long-overdue family break. The 10 days there helped recharge jaded batteries, and was a superb first overseas experience for our 20 year old twin boys. The property was large, spacious and inviting, and didn't disappoint my partner who chose it on the basis of its glorious blend of Asian/African decor. The staff - outstanding and friendly - from our airport pick-up (after our flight arrived 4 hours late) to Rika and her colleagues at the Villa. Highly recommended if you are seeking the Bali experience away from larger complexes.

Villa Balquisse is an oasis in the mostly busy Jimbaran. Bit far from the beach but the area is well designed and you can enjoy a quiet time at the pool or gazeebo. The staff is warm and friendly and helpful at any time. We had two massages and were total relaxed and satisfied.

2 nights of our stay was just a blink of eyes. The great touch of vintage style design meet the tropical heaven of Bali. Love every single thing of the Villa be it in the room, the pool lounge area and the restaurant. All the small things are awesome rustic style with great design. My favourite is in our room the copper iron bathtub. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We had breakfast at The Asam Garam which was so great and dinner at Balique is also wonderful. Villa Balquisse will get my visit again next time. Its the place you've been that you'll never forget. Love it so much!

Room Tip: Really love the room with the copper iron bathtub (room 6)

So lucky to have spent a few nights here with a friend. As avid interior design buffs we picked a winner. Spent lots of time wandering around going "WOW" the garden/pool/outdoor areas are traditionally tropical and immaculately kept, the outdoor "lounge" is stunning with day beds to linger in with a book during the day or enjoy a cocktail of an evening basking in the light of the chandelier. It is sumptuous and elegant without being contrived or snobby, little touches to delight everywhere. We had room 10 with twin beds and found the room size perfect for us, the bathroom was stunning (a few hooks though please!) again the decor delights with a french indonesian vibe and not too sparse or cluttered. We were pretty independant but when assistance was required the staff obliged with a smile. Brekkie was outstanding with many options to suit anyone. Now the spa....please please if you are staying here make sure you visit the spa for a treatment, we got the free massage which I was very impressed with and I also popped back for a facial and again the decor is jaw droppingly gorgeous with a dark rich Indian princess vibe...spa staff were lovely and the product and treatments were the best I have had overseas. Cannot say enough about this lovely small hotel...even had a little ride down to the beach in the stunning vintage aqua buggy. Am counting the days until I get to come back (maybe the private Shaba villa at the rear of the property if I can get enough friends together) Thanks for the beautiful memories of Balquisse.

Just back from a trip that included 3 beautiful nights at this wonderful place. Arrived late at night and its so magical there with chandeliers and lanterns around the 2 pools, day beds in abundance, frogs croaking and the gentle Balinese welcome. Our twin room (10) was perfect..lovely cold air con, massive stone bath and very interesting and gorgeous interiors. We had a peek through a few rooms and they are all different but all lovely we thought. The place is maintained to a very high standard and the gardens/pool areas are just beautiful and you may never want to venture outside of the resort. Very quite when we were there and felt like our own resort at times...loved that. Went for a wander to the neighbour The Shaba...WOW..next time I hope I can stay there for some time as out of this world. Breakfast very fast service and enjoyable and the neighbouring restaurant Balique just amazing...went there several times. Loved Jimbaran! We had included a 30 min massage at the spa..it was perfect! My friend had a 1 hour facial and said it was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return!
