“good but...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2013

If you are staying 1-2 nights this hotel is a fine choice. Rooms were large, shower was hot and the 2 large swimming pools are very enjoyable, especially for kids who had a great time. Just avoid the rooms that are on the ground floor next to the staff room, they're very noisy and staff people seem to be chatting and smoking in there half of the night. Service was very friendly, sometimes good, sometimes totally inefficient (ended up bringing my luggage to my room myself after waiting for 15 minutes). The whole place is nice but needs a bit of maintenance. Beware of the pool, which has some badly sealed tiles on the bottom, almost everybody got a cut or two from the sharp edges of the tiles. We had a nice stay overall but if I was staying in Jimabaran for longer than 2 nights, I would definitelyupgrade to a more luxurious place.

Room Tip: choose a room on the first or second flor in the building along the pool, less noise

We booked 2 nights at the start of a Bali and Lombok tour. we had adjoining rooms with our teenagers and found it very good value - £155 for 2 rooms for 2 nights. The rooms were very comfortable with nice views and good AC . The 2 pools were lovely and not busy. The breakfast was a plentiful very varied buffet and a meal in the restaurant later very tasty and good value. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Jimboran itself was not our favourite place but the hotel a pleasant rest.

Room Tip: we were on the 3rd floor and pool facing - very comfortable

We weren't sure whether to choose this hotel based on the other reviews on Tripadvisor.

After having our driver taking us around and checking with other places in the area, we settled on Sari Segara resort.

One simple reason is the cost, which is between a third and a half of the surrounding resorts.

Next to it the service here was amazing right from the very first moment. You'll be feeling like a valued guest. The staff is great.

The hotel itself isn't as bad as many reviews say. Yes, it could do with a little doing up, but overall the facilities and rooms are decent. Rooms are particularly spacious.

Breakfast is ok, nothing remarkable, but then we paid very little.

The location is very good at the northern warung with lots of the restaurants right in front of you. These restaurants, however, are pricey, and you can get the same food for half or a third of the price at the middle warung some 10mins walk down the road.

The beach is just across the road, which is similar to all the resorts. The hotel could, however, provide sun beds on the beach. That would be my suggestion for improvement.

I'm giving this a five star rating as the value for what we paid was great.

I stayed at This hotel at the beginning a tat the end of a walking tour in Bali and the least I can say is that it is a sad place. Ideal only if this is NOT your destination.
Jimbaran is a very mediocre neighbourhood and I would not recommend it if you want to spend more than 1 night there. I know for a fact that there are amazing hotels in Jimbaran like JIMBARAN PURI BALI, so if you want to chill out and not go out from your resort, make sure that it is a very good one.
The rooms are just correct, clean, just as exotic as it takes to think you are in Asia…nothing else.
Stay away from the restaurant: breakfast is just OK but dinner is definitely bad. Make sure you ask the staff that what you want to order is not defrosted but fresh. It will take a fraction of time to cook, as opposed to our grilled fish that took over 40 minutes.
My 6 year old boy had a good time in the swimming pool, and this was at least positive.
I would not recommend the hotel nor the location.

My experience at Sari Segara was very good. What I really liked about this hotel was that it has a lot of Balinesian charme, relaxing ambiance, 2 swimming pools, very friendly and helpful staff, a restaurant with good food. I stayed there two times, one week in January 2013 and two weeks in February 2013 and had very spacious deluxe rooms in 3rd and 4th floor with full ocean view, very clean. I would stay there again.
reading the comments, I can imagine that it depends on the room you get, because it's not one of the newest resorts.

I stayed at this hotel with two of my friends while we were studying at Gateway College for 3 months. The first thing we noticed were that the rooms were very dirty. There were fingernails and dust on the side of the beds, and even worse under them. The sheets had stains and there was mold on the walls. The sink in the bathroom was clogged and it took several days before it was fixed and it happened several times. One night the AC broke down and we asked to get that fixed, but that never happened. We tried to turn it on later, but the air that came out of it stinked. We also had several lizards in the room, but i guess that happens at most hotels. BUT, one night there was a huge cockroach in the room, and we have seen several of them after that. The worst thing we experienced were the rats. We could hear them running in the walls and even gnawing. We thought they would come through the wall at any time, and even woke up of the sound they were making. Other guests have also been complaining about that.

I would not recommend this place at all. The only reason we didn't move was because of the cheap price and the short distance to the school.

Reviews for this hotel have been mixed...now I know why. It is a huge cavernous place with many rooms, but was almost empty. Our room on the 2nd floor had a nice balcony with partial ocean view, but it smelt badly of cigarette smoke and the aircon was barely making an impact. The bathroom had a major problem with water escaping from the shower onto the floor. I hope there was nobody staying underneath. The staff were mostly friendly and the pool was very nice and super clean. Wifi was good in restaurant/pool area. I wouldn't stay in Jimbaran again, but would stay in Tanjung Benoa and travel over for the great beach restuarants.
