Karma Jimbaran is a located just across the road about, about 50 meters from the
front to the beach. The strange thing though is the hotel seem to shy away from the
beach? We would appreciated to have a beachtowel counter where one exits the hotel
for going to the beach, rather then dragging your sunlounger towels from the villa down
to the beach and back all sandy again. Of course you can call housekeeping for fresh, but it gets a bit tireing after a few days. Also bear in mind the hotel do not have any designated area or loungers at the beach strangely enough. As a guest at Karma Jimbaran you are however welcome to go to their sister hotel Karma Kandara which has a high profile beach-club. Very pitoresque beach and postcard wiews, but the service
at this high profiled beach was a joke, you had to fight and wave to get towels for the loungers, one day there was no towels until long after noon because they were delayed from the laundry - very funny for a place like this. Also paying the bill took 45 minutes after asking for it 4-5 times on one lunch. You do not expect this kind of service - especially with the price-level, when you pay 20:- Usd for 15 cl of rosé-wine, you think some of that would go to keep service at a reasonable level.

Same went for the restaurant at Karma Jimbaran, very nice people, but things too slow. Stuff missing on the breakfast buffét every morning, no butter, no bowls for cereal. youghurt enough for one person at the time, every morning having to ask for bowl, for butter, 10-15 min to get coffee. One day you paid for something, you got free the other day and vice-versa.
Our villa was nice but with a very musty smell in the living-room that never disappeared.
The living-room also had some cockroaches on two occasions and rats-spilling in the semi-outdoor toilet every morning.
The water in the pool looked unclean upon arrvival, but improved. I imagined it had been idle for some time and it took a day for the water to get filtered I suppose. Not the end of the world, but could have been avoided really.
The spa was wonderful good value and nice service.
At the end of the day, it´s fair to say we were little disappointed with Karma. No doubt it is good value and very spacious villas, but still quite a few things missing out.More
