“Gorgeous location, incredible hosts!”
Reviewed 22 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

My friend and I are very thankful to have chosen to stay at Tropical Oasis for our trip to Bali!! Thomas and Soviana are incredible hosts, ready and willing to provide help and advice about making the most of your trip. They were considerate enough to reach out to us prior to our trip, keeping in contact with us throughout the whole experience. Tropical Oasis is a gorgeous, well-kept property with many amenities that other Airbnbs do not offer. Thomas and Soviana helped us to organize day-trips around the island, were gracious enough to lend us their bicycles, and showed us so much hospitality throughout our stay I will not forget the first night we arrived (it was 11PM)... My friend and I were sure that the hosts must be asleep, but were surprised to see Soviana opening the doorway for us with the biggest smile on her face. Not only that, but she even offered some 'welcome' drinks and sat with us for a while to talk about all there is to do in Bali. It was a pleasure meeting Thomas and Soviana and staying at Tropical Oasis. Next time I go to Bali I will definitely look forward to staying with them again!

Our stay Tropical Oasis was the highlight of our Bali trip. The villa is well equipped with all the things a traveller might need. The shiny blue pool is definitely the star of the villa. The hosts Thomas and Soviana are warm and welcoming. You will always find them ready to assist you in your day trips, give helpful tips and contacts for a better experience. We absolutely loved Tropical Oasis and plan to come back again with family. 2 thumbs up!!

“More than just a room for rent..”
Reviewed 21 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Staying with Thomas and Soviana was a wonderful way to start off our holiday. My bf and I aren't usually very sociable people but Thomas and Soviana made sure we felt at ease from the get-go. No other host will welcome you the way they do. You can sense that they genuinely want to talk with you and not just for some formalities. They will help you with anything!

The accommodation itself is very homey and everything simply works. The place was spotless and we can tell Soviana likes to keep things that way! The swimming pool was great for a cool midnight swim, which we did both nights of our stay. We also found time to cook a small meal in the well-stocked kitchen in our room, but even if you don't plan on cooking, worry not - there are places selling food nearby and also a minimarket that, as Soviana tells us, sells everything you need.

The location is secluded but a short scooter ride will get you anywhere. We even went to the Uluwatu temple by scooter and found that the temple is not as far as Google Maps make it seem to be!

Thomas and Soviana were eager to tell us their favorite places to dine and visit in Jimbaran, we wish that we had stayed longer to try them all! Our favorite was the Fish Market. Oh, and another regret of ours was not trying Soviana's Swedish massage. Definitely have to try next time!

As some have mentioned this is a real Airbnb accommodation in which you are welcomed into the host's home. This being said, we never felt like we were lacking privacy - Thomas and Soviana were never intrusive, but at the same time we know that they'll be there should we need assistance.

Thomas and Soviana are very dear and caring people. As for me personally, I definitely would be returning - even if it's only to meet them again!

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 10 March 2017 for a stay in February 2017

I have thought long and hard on this review or if I should even bother as I know I will get an Owners Reply...let's start. The Villa is in a rural location on a High vantage point for some amazing vistas and Suntset photos. The pool was our highlight, deep and refreshing. The villa itself is maintained to a clean and well appointed standard. Breakfast provided was of high quality to make yourself. The lovely Wife, Sovi, was a delight, kind, friendly. She went above and beyond helping us do some much needed washing. This is where it ended. As a party of 3 one of our group had friends from NZ visiting in the area and had planned to be collected for a days outing. She waited in the safety of the villa. Upon collection she and the friends collecting her,were basically abused by The Villa owner Thomas, for having her friends in the courtyard waiting for her to change. Dress does not = Scooter...later in the day I proceeded to be accosted by emails from the The Villa Owner Thomas, questioning our Honesty and Integrity! Reminding us in mutilpul email attachments of his Rules of stay in His Villa. His attitude was aggressive and downright rude. Why he could not have had a calm and respectful conversation when we returned later that day who knows??!!
All 3 Adults staying were completely blown away by the tirade and completely unnecessary reaction. This area is not an area for a Single White Female to be waiting outside a Very Well Gated Compound by herself.
So we left. Early. We no longer felt welcome. We are very honest and respected people. We have never in all the countries we have traveled had our Honesty Questioned. All we wanted was a relaxing holiday especially after the Traumatic Accident in Seminyak we had rescuing a local 6 year old boy trapped by his hand in a Escalator in Seminyak Mall. We are good people Thomas, it's a shame your hot head and anger got the better of you, or you would have known this of us.

Thanks a lot Rebecca for your highly appreciated words about Tropical Oasis and my lovely wife. Soviana is not only wonderful; she is actually also one of ‘the Owners’ as you call it.-->>>>>>
The reason for our unnecessary conflict is that Rebeccas sister, Talyah, invited her own guests from outside (3 men) when she was by herself in the villa, Did so without our knowledge and permission. Common sense tells that hosts cannot allow guests to bring people from outside just like that. Coming and going, using our pool and other facilities. There are too many scary stories in Bali and elsewhere about this problem. Our place is a private villa. Not a public space. ------------------------
We regard Rebeccas review as unclear and blur. We wonder what she had put together if we could not stand up for our rights (write ‘an Owners Reply’ as Rebecca says). You avoid important facts and details. Calling f.ex your sister for ‘one of the group’. Why not clearly say ‘my sister’ instead, as she is the one causing this discussion??. And you repeat over and over again how ‘Good and Honest’ you are. Please humble yourself and leave to others to judge how honest and good you are. By the way, we do not regard your review as reflecting the truth! Besides, the ‘incident’ has absolutely nothing to do with honesty. It has to do with respect. ------------------------
Anyhow:--->>>>>>
Rebecca was travelling with her husband David and her younger sister Talyah, she booked for 3 people. We had a great relation and many nice conversations, they were lovely guests. It’s not true that we accused them of not being honest or have no integrity!! Why do you write like that, Rebecca?? You say you are honest, so please stick to the truth! You are also false when you state that you were ‘accosted by emails’! I sent one mail to inform you of your sister’s activities. You are the responsible, as you booked, so you needed to know. You and David were at the beach when the incident happened. Talyah was at home by herself with her by her invited 3 mail guests, hanging around the pool. After my first mail we exchanged a few more mails between us. You only knew what happened from what Talyah had told you, so we wanted you to know also how we looked at it. You did not contact us voluntarily to sort things out. Looks like you are very protective towards your sister. ------------------------
Background to the incident :--->>>>>>
Guests accept our few house rules when they book. One of our rules is :-->>> ’ - The number of guests (children included) staying must be no more than the number of guests declared at the time of your booking. If you occasionally would ask for an exception, please let us know. - No unauthorized guests without host's permission. So..our guests are not allowed to bring their own guests.’-- <<<. The reason for setting up this rule (we do not like rules either.:) is that we have had 2 traumatic experiences before when guests have invited people from outside. Coming and going without respect, using our facilities, as if we were a public space. So we are sensitive and alert on this problem. This might explain if I was not polite enough when I asked Talyahs guests to leave. ------------------------
So now we had two ‘Disappointed’ parties :---->>>
- We were Disappointed and very, very surprised because Talyah did not respect us and our property. At least she should have asked us first if it was ok to invite people from outside. We are happy to allow guests to bring someone for a cup of tea, a chat, a lunch or a dinner if it’s relevant and secure. ---->>>>>
- Rebecca was Disappointed because we did not accept that her sister invited unknown people from outside. She also believed in her sisters claim that we treated her ‘guests’ impolite. Rebecca blindly defended her younger sister without knowing any facts. -->>>------------------------
This is what happened :-->>>
We left home in the morning. Rebecca and David joined us to be dropped off at the beach. Talyah stayed at home by herself. ------------------------
Soviana and myself came back home in the afternoon and found 3 motorbikes parked across the road outside our villa, blocking ours and our neighbors entrances and parking spaces. We wondered what this was all about. We entered the villa and found 3 unfamiliar men hanging around the pool. Talyah had invited them. As we left in the morning and came back in the afternoon, we do not know if they had been there all day. The guys should have waited for Talyah outside as pickups and drivers normally do. Why did she invite them to hang inside the villa at all? ------------------------
I asked the guys, as kind and gently as I could, to leave Tropical Oasis as soon as possible. And so they did without any problems at all. Talyah stood silent and just listened. I certainly did not abuse anyone!! They were young, strong men with a lot of muscles (maybe with tattoos as well?...:), so I do not think I was too rude or aggressive..:). Anyway, this obviously made Talyah very bitter and uncomfortable, so she and the team checked out the next day. ------------------------
We are sorry that Rebecca and David decided to leave. David was a very pleasant acquaintance. It was not necessary. We told them that we had no hard feelings, as long as her sister did not bring any more guests. May be Talyah did not accept that? ------------------------
Our surrounding area is very safe and quite!! Please do not compare it to Seminyak or Kuta! All the time there are plenty of ‘Single White Female’ as Rebecca express it and other women as well, staying in our area. We have never ever heard of any problems what so ever. ------------------------
Make no mistake Rebecca, we would stick to our principles again if your sister brought uninvited guests from outside without asking. No regrets or hesitations at all from our side regarding that!! ------------------------We are giving all our respect and consideration to our guests and we expect the same in return.

“Amazing stay in Bali!!”
Reviewed 27 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

We had an amazing stay at the Tropical Oasis and Thomas & Soviana are absolutely wonderful hosts! We arrived later than planned but they were very accommodating. When we stepped into the villa, we were greeted warmly with welcome drinks and refreshments prepared by Soviana herself. The villa was clean, comfortable, and authentically Balinese. The view at the rooftop terrace was breathtaking! Soviana is very thoughtful and detailed oriented and we had everything we needed to feel at home. We would highly recommend Thomas and Soviana's place for a memorable stay in Bali!

“Tropical Oasis”
Reviewed 5 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

Our family of 4 stayed in Tropical Oasis for a week and really enjoyed it! The hosts -Soviana and Thomas - are TOP rated for a reason! The villa is very nice, clean and there is everything you need to feel relaxed and like home. Swimmig pool, air conditioning, beautiful garden with flowers and butterflies and even fresh fruits right there! Also when you come the fridge is ready for you with organic eggs, bread, cereals and milk. Soviana and Thomas are very welcoming and warm hosts. They are ready to assist and help you in every possible way to make your stay comfortable and easy. Soviana also does professional massage, she has her massage parlour straight at the villa.
The location is ok as you can quite easily get everywhere you want - beach, restaurants, shops and around the island.
Also there is a veranda on the roof of the villa, where you can enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets!
Definitely recommend!
