“Beautiful hotel, nice staff, worth the price!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2012

We stayed only one night at Bali Segara Hotel in July 2010, booking was made by airport staff in DPS so we didnt really have any expectations, what a good surprise we had visiting the hotel and our two big immaculate bedrooms!
Staff was very warm and helpful.
Real feeling of balinese spirit through authentic handicraft and furniture.
The children enjoyed the beautiful swimming pool and tennis table as well.
Will definitely stay here again if back to Bali and need accomodation close to the airport.

Has been a long day traveling from koh samui to Phuket to kuala lumpur and finally to Bali . Was looking forward to finally settling into our hotel . I was happy with the reviews I read on here , trip advisor . Don't know what went wrong but our standard room is much to be desired . This is not a three star standard . Feels like a lower 2 star hotel . The bathroom is grotty with rust on the pipes , the ceramic wash basin stained , the grout ewww. The room has a bit of a musty smell . From a week at the maryoo hotel on koh samui to this is very disappointing especially since we booked through agoda again . Thank god it's only one night ! I'm out of here tomorrow !

I stayed here with my husband and 2 children, having 2 bedrooms was a luxury for us, and cost less than a standard resort room elsewhere. We loved the traditional feel and paintings, the 2 storey apartment was huge. 2 bathrooms, the water was only luke warm at its hottest but okay for Bali climate. The pool was the cleanest we have ever seen and noticed the staff cleaning it for hours at dawn each morning. Pretty gardens. We liked the maze of laneways that lead to the beach, feels like old Bali. If there was one drawback, it was the lack of other guests to entertain my children. If you want peace, you will find it here.

Room Tip: Family 2 bed apartment is huge

I travelled with my husband and 74yr old mum and we wanted something very close to the airport as we arrived pretty late. I read previous traveller reviews and liked the fact that the hotel was literally "just around the corner". The family suite (with kitchen, as that provided the required 2 bedrooms) is decorated with stunning wooden pieces and especially the main bedroom is pretty amazing with an intricate wooden canopy framing traditional Balinese paintings.I had only two concerns: firstly that I walked in the door and noticed a strong smell of mothballs (which I suppose is better than having silver moths nibble your clothes) and secondly the stairs were extremely steep and mum was out of breath going up and a bit scared coming down. This would obviously not concern the average traveller.

Room Tip: The family suite would be an excellent choice for the average traveller, but is probably unsuitable...

stayed at this hotel with a friend....we were on budget travel so decided to give this hotel a go with a little worry for budget hotel BUT this cosy hotel went beyond our expectation...the service, cleanliness, location, sleep quality were at a great rate. The most thing i love about this hotel is its friendly staff, and the location is very convenient since it's 10 minutes away from the airport and yet located at the heart of tourist area of Kuta beach. I would highly recommend anyone who likes the cosiness of home of hotel...which is rare to find !!

We heard the hotel from our dear friends and booked a standard room for 4 nights. The hotel is in close proximity from the airport (PS: new and better airport is finishing soon) and the wonderful friendly staff picked us up from the airport. Transportation was easy, hotel's car was clean and big enough to fit our numerous luggages. Therefore from the start, we had a good impression and felt the hotel was giving 5 star service even before we reached the hotel.
The road is located off the main road into a small alleyway approx. 1 min drive in. However don't be put off by it, you'd actually appreciate that it is not one of those hotel located on the main road, as it is much more peaceful, quite and something you'd want at night. To get around Kuta, all you need to do is walk 3 minutes into the main road and head up to Kuta.
The hotel is very generous in comparison to how affordable it is. Free pick up to and from the airport, large bedroom, breakfast, pool & jacuzzi, great location and abundant of friendly staffs.
Highly recommended and thank you Segara!

We booked this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and it's proximity to the airport, as we had very long layovers both coming to and leaving Bali.

On our return home from Bali, we were actually able to walk here from the airport (only 10 minutes, but pretty unpleasant trying to escape the airport itself), since we knew where it was from the initial stay.

The pool is beautiful and there are plenty of sitting areas around it, so there's no need to stay in the slightly musty room.

The staff is absolutely wonderful!
