I usually stay in Legian or Seminyak and decided I didnt want to drive my bike anymore (was robbed and pushed off my scooter in November 2013) So I decided to stay where I could walk to the beach and shops. DeKuta is located at the beach end of Poppies 2, a very short walk down to Beachwalk. Its rooms are spacious and modern with either a choice of twin beds or a king bed and the balcony are large for Bali standards. The pool area always has sun which is good for those who tan and also lots of shaded places to sit and relax around the pool and lobby. The restaurant attached does room service but dining in was a better option (im a people watcher). Wifi was available FOC and worked in all areas of the hotel! I would consider staying at this hotel again when I return to Bali.

Room Tip: Second Floor... facing away from the morning sun. I stayed in room 223 just above the end of the poo...

Value for money and location. It is literally in the centre of Kuta. A walking distance to Legian. During the day we would walk around the Kuta-Legian stretch and grab some bargain hunting. And then we chilled at the beach and finished it off at the pool. We grabbed dinner at Nebula, which on the lobby and then we walked to Sky Garden to party. 5 min from Kuta Beach and Hard Rock Cafe Bali. 10 min to Sky Garden. 15 min to Legian. Room is comfortable and basic.

Our second time to this hotel, our first stay was great this led to us booking dekuta hotel again mainly for price, location, service and modern design. This time we booked thru booking.com for 6 nights @ $56 AUD per night. Check in was quick and efficient, shown to room in corner on top floor. Upon entering I noticed the airconditioning was not effective and the quality was not the same as the room we had stayed in previously. We gave the aircon abit more time to work but to no avail, upon calling reception I was told they would send an engineer to sort out the issue. Around two hours later with no change, I called reception who stated they had already sent someone to fix it, I stated that yes the engineer had been to fix the aircon, but it had made no difference, the room was still very hot. The reception staff offered another room, which we very gladly took and noticed the temperature difference immediately. Rooms are in need of updating/maintenance as wear and tear starting to show, bathrooms very dirty, several broken item around room ( cracked bathroom sink, light fittings, chair nearly falling apart) and linen is atrocious- dirty, ripped and stained grey/browntowels, yuk. Wifi non existent, very frustrating. Worst of all, while out shopping on our first nights stay, I went to withdraw money from my account, only to find there was none there, dekuta had charged my card twice for the room. When I approached reception staff later that night, they were at a loss how to explain why this had happened, I was very upset at the thought of having every single dollar taken from my account, reception staff were apologetic and stated they would look into the matter the next morning. I checked my account the next day, and my money had been refunded, and that is where the story ends there, no apology or explanation, nothing. The rest of the stay, we couldn't wait to check out and won't be returning, this hotel needs some serious maintenance to bring it back up to scratch and to $55 a night standards. Room service selection very limited, and finishes at 10pm although good value for money. Will not return or recommend.

Room Tip: Tip to choose a good room ?? Look elsewhere...

Made a last minute booking here on my last day in Bali. Was considering Satriya Cottages nearby but went for Dekuta. The room is spacious with comfy king-sized bed. Prior to confirming my booking, the reception staff told me there is wifi in the room, only to find out it is just available in the lobby and pool area. :( Good thing, it was my last day and I just wanted to have a decent place to stay near Kuta beach. Accessible to the Beachwalk mall and souvenir shops.

Room Tip: Try to get the room with the pool view

I booked this hotel cos of it's location, near kuta beach, shops and Kuta Beachwalk mall, directly infront of the hotel. Through my frequent visit to Bali, I've always passed by this hotel but never stayed here. I used to remember that this hotel used to be quite expensive in Bali standards. So this time I booked here cos the rate was surprisingly cheap. Check-in was ok, had to prepay my booking, eventho' I booked directly with them. Asked for a room with a view of the pool and with balcony, got one but a tall pillar was right infront, dunno why it's there, don't think it's supporting anything. Asked for change of rooms immediately and got one but they had to push 2 single beds together, which was fine cos that's the only one left. The room looks nice and looks great on pictures but look and inspect closely and you will see that it's very bare and needs replacements. Hairdryer, toilet amenities even slippers are not provided. Maybe they will provide upon request but still it will be good if all those are prepared for you. It would be thoughtful of them. Pipes, taps, shower and sanitary wares looks rusted and scaling and need to be replaced immediately. Worst of all, the electric kettle was a turn off, the metal coils in the jar was totally covered in scaling. Disgusting. I didn't use it the whole time I was there. Towels tho' replaced daily, had stains all over them. Brown stains. Didn't even try to find out what it was. Wifi was intermittent and was strongest at the lobby. Breakfast was understandably limited due to it's a small hotel. Whatever that lacks in this hotel is justifiable but it's time to replace and provide for the comfort of your guests.

Dekuta hotel has the best location in Kuta area! Is not a beachfront but neither is its price... Is a small budget hotel so you are getting what you are paying for: clean rooms in very good condition with all the facilities, good buffet breakfast, nice pool and a friendly and helpful staff! Terrific location, only 1 street away from Kuta beach, next to the markets, the shopping center and nightlife. We also tried their brand new restaurant, Nebularoom, delicious western and indonesian food! MUST TRY their king size burgers and their Mojitos, the best ones in Kuta. You can also rent transport just right in front and even day trip excursions at their counter. The title says it all, convenient hotel! We highly recommend Dekuta hotel.

Hotel is in a great location, very short walk to the beach. The hotel is down the end of Poppies Lane, but a short 5-10 min walk towards all the night clubs ect. 2 minute walk to the back entrance of the Beachwalk shopping center, but a longer 20-30 minute walk towards the Waterbomb park and Discovery Mall.

Rooms are adequately sized for 2 people. Bathroom has a large shower with good pressure, but more cleaning could be done on the tap wear.

The pool can be covered in shade at times, but it's always hot enough for a swim.

Room Tip: Recommend either first or second floor room facing the pool, as ground level rooms can attract noise...
