Before arriving to Bali, myself and my sister wanted to book somewhere for our first two nights! We trawled through lots of websites and reviews online and found balisandy, we thought it was great value, oh we were wrong. We got picked up from the airport which was a service they provided which we thought was great but we got ripped off, would have been cheaper getting a blue bird taxi. Don't make the same mistake we did. The room itself had an awful sewage smell, the toilet was on constant flush and made a lot of noise and the shower was freezing. The location was good but not the best, you had to walk through a lands with markets where the sellers hassled you constantly and there was a horrific sewage smell. The day of checkout the staff were very rude, we said we wanted to stay another price and they tripled their asking price, not fair. We left and never looked back ! I wouldn't recommend staying here.

signage at Pantai Kuta road indicates that the property is 200 metres from the main road (beach road). i think it is more than that.

it is not a serious issue during the sunlight hours as the narrow road is lined with small shops selling virtually the same things - beach wear sarongs. dresses, t shirts and antiques, main of which was the phallic shaped bottle openers in many sizes and materials ( most were wood carvings)

i was mainly concerned after sunset when the place gets dark, the shops close and you still have to negotiate about 150 metres narrow alley ( off poppie 2) but i was assured by the staff that there ought to be no problem and thank god there was none.it is,however, creepy.

now to the property- nicely located off the mainstream flow of traffic, hence quiet the resort provides fairly comfortable accommodation in green settings and with a pool. the staff are amazing - no job is too small or big for them. we had an issue with a leaking airconditioner. it was attended to immediately albeit corrected by a more efficient technician the next day.

the breakfast is simple but effective ( no salad bar or creal station) but basic dishes and bread, croissant and some danish with local cut fruits and tea and coffee.

excellent stop for quiet stopover.

an excellent mall KUTA BEACH is about 150 metres away and many good brands of shoping and eatereies are located. nice bakery is a popular outlet at this mall.

Room Tip: try get rooms facing the pool, standard tooms do not have a fridge.

Stayed there for a week with bf, and we love it. Good food, very friendly hotel staff always ready to help if we need. Easy to walk to the mall and Kuta beach.
One star down is for the bed linen, it is old and scrubby.

This place is typical of most of the budget places in Kuta. The rooms were spacious and relatively clean, the location just off Poppies II suited us and the surrounds and gardens where quite nice. A few small issues.

When I first checked my room had no fridge. I was informed that you only get a bar fridge in the next room tariff up. Without too much persuasion the upgraded my travel buddy and I into better rooms. The only difference, the bar fridge.

The next concern was that the "Free WiFi" had no reception in my room. It worked well down at the restaurant or next to the pool but up in my room, nothing. Speaking of the pool, the swim up bar was closed the entire week we were there. Never staffed, no fridges or drinks in the bar. We had to go to the restaurant to get drinks and then take them to the pool. Then get out and do the same if we wanted another.

If you don't want WiFi or a swim up bar then this place would be ok but when they were pretty much my only two requests, I felt a little disappointed.

Rooms very simple, staff pretty average, location very central in Kuta, price cheap but can get better for a similar price doubt I'd stay here again I don't have any real complaints I just know there's better in Bali for around the same price

this is a terrible place to stay. the hotel is overpriced. hotel staffs werent friendly at all. we we're supposed to order our breakfast from them but they did not even bother to look at us when 8 of us marched into the canteen n sat around the table right in front of them. we tell them that we wanna order our breakfast then they showed us the menu w/o sayin the complimentary breakfast is only continental breakfast. after we finished ordering then only the waitress told us that there is only one choice for the free breakfast.

other than that, the floor in our rooms are sticky. it wasnt cleaned properly. there is stains on the mattress sheets, we add an additional bed in each of our rooms n the blanket was only as big piece as my towel. it wasnt enough to keep me warm at all. when we first entered the rooms we tried to turn on our aircond for more than 15 minutes but it wasnt working at all. it was 2am in the morning then we called the receptionist n he told us there is nobody available to look after the counter so we wil hav to wait till he got hold of the security guard.

apart from the inner part of the rooms, the walls outside our rooms are moldy.
i would never recommend any of my friends to stay here.

Stayed here in july 2011,Hidden down a little lane in poppies II but only 5mins walk to Kuta beach. Rooms are basic but pool area and garden are beautiful. Night life is in easy reach yet no noise will be heard! The staff were very good, with no complaints.Rooms very basic no safety deposit box in room which was abit of a pain but one can be got in recption. Hotel is suitable for all, young and lively and also families. Would defo return highs: price, location near action yet quiet, pool area, staff. Lows: basic rooms.
