“very good for the money”
Reviewed 23 August 2014

I stayed this hotel for 5 days with my 3 years old son. Its little bit out of legian sometimes trafic is so bad and even taxi drivers dont want to drive to legian but you can use shuffle bus to legian or kuta. Breakfast was good, room was very clean and comfortable beds. Spa is also nice al massagel traphist are trained. The only negative thing is about this hotel swimming pool is so cold because of season, I also seen some big bugs in the toilet at night time but its very common in Asia, also we were on the ground level. Hotel food were also nice and cheap.

I would only rate this hotel at two and a half but as I can't it has luckily got a three. We booked a triple room but was given a double with an extra make shift camp bed. The room smelled terribly of damp and there was no window. The lighting was also poor making it dark and dingy. We complained and to be fair they changed the room to a proper triple with a window. This room was fresher, lighter and more spacious. The bed was nice and comfortable and the room was clean. The hotel has a rather strange set up; it is in a bad location and seems to be built in a run down, derelict shopping mall. The reception is in another building and the overall layout is poor. It is not very well run, the pool towels had run out even though there was no one at the pool and my room key card kept failing. The pool gets little sun and is freezing cold. Positives are that the staff are friendly and the breakfast is good.

Room Tip: One with a window.

When I arrive in my room, I was brought to a very far corner after many twist and turns. The room was in darkness as the hotel card cannot turn it on. A technician came and took almost 20 mins to fix the short circuit while standing in a chair with his shoes on. Roaches in the toilet and mosquitoes. The room was huge though. Basic nessicities available. The only thing commendable was that it has a free shuttle that leaves every 2 hours to discovery mall, beach walk and legion beach. Far from shopping areas.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The suite was very big, comfortable and clean.

The only problem was the location with it being rather far from the shops but there was a courtesy bus into Kute, 2 hours from 1000 till 1800 or about 15 min in a taxi.

Room Tip: Go for a suite, ours cost about $60 whereas others were in rooms for just $30.

A good hotel with nice helpful staff. The breakfast was really good. The hotel is far enough away from the nightlife so there is not too much noise. It was easy to get around Kuta. No matter the time you could always find transport. I did see one roach in the room, to me not a big deal considering the size of the city and the amount of people in it. Overall it was the perfect choice with helpful staff for budget travel.

Room Tip: There are 2 entrances, remember which one , it can be confusing at first.

I stayed here for four nights with my wife, parents and friends. We took 4 rooms all on the honeymoon package that includes daily breakfast, one dinner, one hour massage and airport transfers (none of us were actually on honeymoons, it was just a good rate considering the inclusions). The online booking form was non-functional, so I sent an email to the reception and made the booking with them manually. I let them know that we would not be transferring back to the airport as our holiday was to continue at the Pan Pacific hotel in Tabanan, Bali, so we would require transfers there instead. They didn't raise any objection to that, so we went ahead and paid the deposit on the booking.

The day before we were scheduled to arrive, I emailed to confirm that the transfers would be waiting for us. At this point they told us that we could not use the transfers to go on to our second hotel as this was not part of the package. I understood that this was not what was in the package, which is why I noted it earlier with them. If they had an objection, they should have raised it before accepting the booking and taking a deposit.

We arrived at the airport and were transferred to the hotel as requested. We arrived at reception at around 2:30pm. The receptionist first told us that our rooms weren't ready as we'd arrived too early. We asked what normal check-in time was, and she said 2:00pm. They promised to get the rooms ready as soon as possible, so we went and had a drink in the bar.

The rooms took quite some time to be made ready. When we were finally shown up to the rooms, we found that they were not as described on the website. According to the site we should have had either a Pool view or City view. What we had was a window to a very small atrium with a rock garden. It was literally one square meter and totally dark with no natural light at all. It was not a view of anything. Basically just a shaft with rocks at the bottom of it. Otherwise the rooms were clean, and had been set out nicely for the honeymoon package with rose petals, towels folded into swans and a cake.

Breakfast was reasonable, and the restaurant manager, Adam, was very friendly. He even brought his stash of Vegemite to share with my parents who were missing home. The food was ok; just basically what you'd expect from a breakfast buffet at a hotel like this. They had eggs made to order, coffee and tea were promptly brought out, and the buffet included chopped up sausage, potato wedges and the usual Asian dishes of fried rice, fried noodles and rice porridge. There was also fruit and some small cakes.

I skipped the massage, but those who went all had complaints of one kind or another. My wife said it wasn't hard enough and my Australian friends reckoned the masseuse took liberties with where she was touching. The dinner was good. A nice set menu. They arranged an 8 seat table for us all as requested.

Parking at this hotel is a bit difficult if you're planning on driving yourself. It's actually paid parking, though it's a flat rate of Rp. 2000 (US$0.20) every time you park, untimed. The parks are tiny and the lot is usually packed full.

We had trouble ordering towels to the room, which on the first request one evening didn't come, and took a long time to arrive after we called again the next morning. The room also began to stink of smoke during our stay. We think this was from people smoking into the atrium and it wafting into our room. Reception organised some kind of anti-smoke odor treatment for the room, but it had a smell of its own that wasn't much better.

We didn't use the pool or gym. Check-out ran smoothly.

All-in-all it was ok for the price, but I think 4 stars is a bit of a stretch, and I didn't like the handling of issues that we had.

Room Tip: Insist you get what you've booked. Rooms with no window to the outside are not on when you'v...

I stayed here for one night before transfered to another hotel near Sanur. The staffs were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfy eventhough this hotel doesn't have a beautiful view of the city. This hotel is perfect for budget travellers.
