stayed at the best western kuta beach for 10 days for my first time in bali. room was small but clean and just what we needed. toilet was smaller than on an aeroplane though!! slight problem of flooding on the floor one night after heavy rains but was fixed by the staff the next day. free wifi didnt seem to work in the room but the lobby computers are great for checking things online. breakfast was always good! wish they had bacon though. nice looking hotel with a great view from the roof top pool. about 30 min walk to the discovery mall and 15-20 mins to the hard rock cafe. 2 mins from the beach. mini mart a min walk away. awesome massage/hair salon/spa across the road for cheap! 15 min walk to legian market stalls. loved the 24hr room service. friendly staff. beef burgers sold at the hotel are a bit rare and need to be cooked more. no problem of mosquito's in the rooms at all as i have read that there is a mosquito problem in other hotel room reviews before i booked.

Room Tip: buying the most expensive room would probably make your stay more enjoyable

I stayed for 10 days. Rooms were decent size with safe in room, great mini bar, t.v. 24 hour room service,.
WiFi throught the hotel & in all rooms, which is a big plus for me.
1 minute walk to the beach and 10 mins walk to Matahari, which is a very large shopping complex. Plenty of taxis.
Staff could not be more helpful.
Excellent buffet breakfast.
The bathroom might be a little on the small size for some however with all that the hotel offers it is easy to overlook it. Plus the water pressure in the shower is great.
I would definately stay there on my return to Bali~

Its hard to know where to begin but there are strong good points and strong not so good points so ill break it down. We stayed for 4 nights in January, staff were friendly etc but overall would rate the whole experience as average.

Rooms: are tiny. Im not sure how the website photos were taken but dont be fooled there is very little room. I wouldnt recommend any more than 2 in a standard room, we were crowded with 2 bags and us. The bathroom is very compact and i would imagine it would be hard to stay longer than 3-4 nights. Soundproofing does not exist. The tiny room and bathroom are bearable taking into account the cleanliness etc. but lordy dont stay here if you value your sleep or have young children. There were some late night arrivals one night and we could hear full conversations from the lobby from out bed! We were at the opposite end on the first floor. On a
Side note, beds were pretty comfy.

Breakfast: pretty dissapointed based on bali standards the breakfasts are usually pretty good and cover a variety of tastes. There is 5 hot options - fried rice, fried noodle, chicken sausage, some form of potato and a varied indo dish. 2 types of cut fruit, egg station, some bread, pastries, cereal and chicken poridge. I cant eat eggs so basically no options and asked for plain rice. Would have LOVED some bacon...its a holiday after all. Dont arrive too late, breakfast finishes at 10:30 and there wont be anything left. Seating is hard to find and its very hot (no aircon in the lobby) and noisy. I usually wouldnt skip an included bfast but we did just to save the hassle.

Pool: remembering this is a hotel and not a resort. There is a small pool on the roof that overlooks kuta/legian beach. Half the pool is about 0.4m deep so you wont be doing laps but it was a nice cool off and the staff were friendly. There is also a resturant and bar up there.

Location: is fantastic and was the reason we chose the hotel. We were able to walk every where (20 mins to kuta square, 50m to beach, 5-10 to legian, 4 to legian st.) there is also a mini mart, chemist, laundry and multiple surf board hire in the same lane. The actual name of this hotel is Best western kuta seaview. We had a few troubles with our driver because there is another hotel called the "kuta seaview" which is close by. Make sure you take the address for the driver or taxi to save confusion and the contact number. Ive noticed the locals seem to call it best western kuta beach (also confusing because there is also a best western kuta)

Would recommend this hotel to a younger crowd, familys on a budget, couples etc. its a basic hotel, modern, clean and affordable in a great location. Downsides were noise and bfast and wouldnt stay again.

The room as such was very small compared to the actual pictures., but it made that up by being very clean. The bathroom was a little shady too, as it protruded into the bedroom and was just a glass door throughout.
We took a standard room which had no view, it opened up to the corridor outside. Infact i would advise against taking a room on 4th floor as every morning we could hear the swimming pool water gushing through the pipes. After the first night we chanegd to a room on the 2nd floor which was ok.
Overall, the staff were very friendly, location was just awesome, with good food options and shopping . The beach was also just 50 m away...
Overall i would say a no frills accomodation for a very cheap price. So if you plan to sightsee a lot and not stay in the room , then go for this hotel :)

Room Tip: Choose a superior room and above and one on the 1st three floors as it is very noisy on the fourth f...

The Room was tiny dont be deceived by the wide lenses photos that they put on the internet. Hotel lets families of five book all in to one room so thus the breakfast was nightmare no food no where to sit... Loud Pop Music played on the rooftop to encourage the youngsters to drink the cheap Plentiful Beer Sitting in the Pool!!!!!
Every day without fail I had to call to replenish clean towels and new toilets rolls avoid this hotel at any public holidays. It cant cope......
Kuta beach is Filthy we even saw a Syringe whilst walking along trying to avoid the touts selling anything and everything.

Room Tip: if you need to stay here try and ask for a sea view otherwise you will be overlooking a corridor

Stayed here January 2, 2012 until January 5, 2012, it was not our best experience. Room was clean and efficient, no room to spare. We stayed in the double deluxe, $134.00 per night, others paid less than 1/2 what we did and stayed in same size room, Book-it dot com. didn't find us the best deal. Now I am having trouble getting refund for the difference.
We had 4 or 5 fighting roosters placed along the perimeter of our hotel under our room every day screaming 24/7, not something you would expect in a hotel of this price. We saw several nice hotels for 1/3 the price with bigger rooms and no complimentary chickens screaming 24/7.
I would not stay here again! If you do bring ear plugs!
The included breakfast was good, good selection, however the cook could use a new skillet as his was completely worn out and floated every omelet in 6 oz. of oil to stop it from sticking, for the price we paid they should at least buy a new skillet for the breakfast cook. The Cafe is too small and crowded to efficiently handle the number of guests for breakfast, feels crowded and too busy to be relaxing.
The breakfast cafe is located on the ground floor, no air-conditioning; diesel mixed with orange juice not exactly appetizing.
The roof top pool is a nice feature if you’re the only one in it, good for a private residence, not for a hotel with 144 rooms and potentially 288 plus guests to accommodate. Pool was usually being used by rowdy young Aussy’s, which is fine if you enjoy listening to 20 something guests screaming in a confined space.
If you were to pay between $45 and $65 per night without the screaming chickens and more subdued guests in the public areas it would be on par with many good hotels nearby.

Room Tip: Check if the chickens have been removed, or bring ear plugs
