“A haunting reminder”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

A place to remember those tragically taken in the Bali bombings. As a Kiwi our losses were small, compared to our Aussie neighbours. No visit to Bali would have been complete without paying my respects at the memorial. Amidst the hustle and bustle of Kuta, I actually didn't see the memorial when I wandered down the other side of the street several times. I couldn't believe I'd not seen it earlier.
As with any memorial, there were those who seemed oblivious to the fact that others might not be impressed by their idiotic behaviour and photo antics was extremely disrespectful.
Sadly, I was disappointed that the memorial site seemed much in need of a dose of TLC. A small but important site, it should not be neglected.

“Pay respect”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

This is a haunting reminder of how quickly life can be taken away. I was very annoyed to see people standing in front of the monument for photos doing stupid hand signs and poses. I feel some respect no matter what country you are from.

“Ground Zero”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

This was a very difficult place to visit. But could not leave without paying my respects to all the beautiful people who lost there lives, and of course all the families that have been affected. I can't say too much but it is a beautiful memorial.
